Vessel with LOA of 24 m or more should report at base line before arriving
Fredrikstad fairway to VTS Horten on VHF channel 18 or telephone +47 33034960 or
+47 33034953 regarding permission for entrance.
All vessels must call Fredrikstad Harbour on VHF channel 12 (working channel 72)
when passing Belgen lighthouse in the East entry (main A) and Strømtangen
lighthouse in the West entry ( B), giving the vessels name, call-sign, ETA and request
the assistance needed. In Fredrikstad port area vessels may expect a RIB that will
direct and assist the vessel to her berth unless Port Pilot is on board.
Arrival notification and Reporting notification
A simplification of the normal routines for arrival and leaving Norwegian territorial
waters will be carried out by the vessels filling out and submitting Arrival notification
and Reporting notification to STI Mobile Office before departing Harlingen for Race 1
and in Fredrikstad if Fredrikstad is the first port of call in Norway for the Cruise in
Company..
2.5 Pilots
Pilots are free of charge and available if requested in advance.
Ships above 70m LOA are obliged to use the pilot within Fredrikstad waterway.

2.6 Tugs
Tug assistance and RIBs (sma ‘push-me’ boat) are available and free of charge.

The Mobile Race Office will collect these forms from the LOs and hand over to
Fredri stad’s representative in Har ingen
Masters are advised to retain a copy onboard for inspection in case Customs Officers
wish to board your vessel.
It is forbidden to sell any imported goods on the quayside alongside ships.
Customs officers may inspect ships for prohibited goods.
2.8 IMMIGRATION
It should be noted that it is the responsibility of the individuals concerned to obtain any
visa’s that ma be necessar Fai ure to be in possession of such documents ma
have implications for them and the operators of the host vessel. Entrants are also
reminded that regu ations for visa’s etc are iab e to change
All crew members/passengers must hold a valid passport and visa where necessary.
Citizens from non-EU countries and/or those needing visa must apply for it in
advance.
The requirement for a visa will depend on the nationality of the individual. Failure to
be in possession of a valid visa may render the person liable to removal from Norway
at the vesse ’s expense

BERTHING
3.1 Special Berthing Instructions
All vessels will be berthed according to the berthing plan and the sequence will
dependent on the vessels mooring location in the river. See Arrival Map.

3.2 Formalities
Dress Ship - all participating vessels are kindly requested to dress ship Rainbow
Fashion during their stay in Fredrikstad.

Drawing inspiration from the geography and cultural history of the coasts of Denmark, Sweden
and Norway, the internationally acclaimed artist Susan Philipsz is developing a boundarycrossing sound artwork.
The sound that will be heard from Old Town and Cicignon (see Town plan) is recorded with
horn instruments and is intended to provoke associations with the shipping and boat traffic

Crew Party


Time: Sunday, July 13, 19.00-01.00.
Location: City Hall Park (Lykkebergparken).
Transport arrangements: walking distance from all vessels.
Entry system (wristbands). Filled out form to Mobile Race Office.
Outdoor party in the nice park behind the City Hall. Buffet, fresh fruit, 2 beverages pr.
person. Outdoor disco (DJ) and live music. FIFA World Cup, final at 22.00, big screen.
Admission is strictly restricted to crew members wearing The Tall Ships Races and
Crew Party Wristbands provided by the STI.
Drinks to be issued to crew members according on the colour of their wristbands.
Notice: Wear clothes and shoes for an outdoor party.

Time: Sunday, July 13. The Parade starts at 16.00 (sharp) from Steffensjordet P-place
(see Town Plan).
The LO will take the crews to the line-up area (meet at 15.15 at Steffensjordet).

Tuesday July 15. Starts 14.00. Presentation of the vessels and salute.
Cultural Arena Stortorvet: Live music, Extreme-sport/media/workshops, concerts and
entertainment on a big scene and screen/ young artists. At night: broad target group / live
music. Free entry for all. The arena is located close to the Crew Centre. First concert
Friday July 11 at 19.00.
Cultural Arena Isegran – Historical/maritime/ Family park with activities all day. Theatre
and concerts.
Cultural Arena Old Town and Kongsten Fortress– Historical activities. Saturday July 12:

8 LIAISON SYSTEM
8.1 Liaison System (Explanation of system)
The LO-system in Fredrikstad is headed by Mr. Fredrik Nordby. 24 hrs telephone service at
LOHQ.

Fredri stad has assigned dedicated iaison officers (LO’s) to each vesse in The Ta Ships
Races. Your vesse wi be met b a team of LO’s upon arriva in the Port of Fredri stad The
LO’s wi then be at our service ever da and wi report on board after the ear Liaison
Officer briefings Through the LO’s, we wi provide ou with essentia information, much of
which is contained within this manual, and will keep you up-to-date with any revised or new
materia throughout our sta in Fredri stad Your LO’s wi be p eased to assist ou with an
queries you may have and to help you with various arrangements that will be required during
your stay – detai s of which appear in this manua The LO’s aim is to enab e ou and our
crew to enjoy your visit in Fredrikstad. They will advice you of full details of the activities
organized for captains and crews. In order to provide the maximum assistance, we anticipate
that our LO’s wi spend as much time as possib e with our vesse and crew, and ou are
cordia requested to afford our LO’s suitab e faci ities A LO teams wi be equipped with a
mobile telephone to ensure the best contact between your vessel and the designated team of
LO’s Name, contact detai s of our team of LO’s and LO team phone number wi be provided
by your designated LO team upon arrival. The LO system can also be contacted by
addressing the staff in the LO and Volunteer Centre situated on the event site.

9 SHIP SERVICES
Host City Support Unit (HCSU)
9.2 Water
Filling of water will be optional at docking on arrival. Topping up will be possible before leaving
Fredrikstad. Water filling may be self-service using estab ished “water-points” and/or
requested through the Liaison Officer. Ships needing large volumes of water will have to
arrange with the Liaison Officer. Water supply is free of charge.
9.3 Electricity
Class B, C and D ships which have applied for electricity through the TSR2014 Entry form will
receive electricity free of charge according to the docking plan. Others may receive electricity
depending on available capacity and/or in-ship electricity standard.
9.4 Waste
The segregation of waste will be in five categories:

9.1 Fuel
Vessels arriving through the Western approach (B) bunker at Værste Marina (starboard side
just before the bridge ) prior to berthing. Smaller vessels arriving through the Eastern
approach (A) bunker at Nøkledypet Marina (port side at the narrow between Kråkerøy and
Isegran ) prior to berthing. These fuel stations take major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard).
Large vessels can order fuel through their Liaison officer for delivery from barge during stay
until Monday evening. Cash (NOK, EURO or GBP) and major credit cards will be accepted.
