1. Company Profile
Background
Plassim was initially established in 1960, with Swiss and German know-how,
by Kibbutz Merchavia to manufacture plastic pipes.
Plastic piping systems in the world in general, and in Israel in particular, were
few and far between at that time but Plassim’s investment in product
development and marketing introduced plastic piping systems to Israel.
Plassim is still Israel’s largest manufacturer of plastic pipes and over the years
has developed it’s activities to include other related products.
Plassim is owned by The Midle East Tube Company (71%) and Kibbutz
Merchavia (29%) and is part of the Gaon-Agru Group.
Products
Plastic piping and accessories for the transport of water and gas under
pressure, underground sewerage and drainage, soil and waste systems
inside buildings, cable ducts and irrigation systems.
The majority of Plassim’s product range is manufactured according to Israeli
and International standards. Plassim holds 12 licenses from the Israeli
Standards Institution to mark products with the Israeli standards mark. (See
appendix A).
