First assemble the Heat Gun ‘Circular’ Air Nozzle Port to the casing of Heat Gun STEINEL _3483, assemble it along the clamping slot, fix it and prevent shaking; then turn on the Heat Gun STEINEL _3483 power and Set to II; Turn on the White Light Smoke Absorber, the distance between Smoke Absorber and the PCBA to be soldered is usually 15cm. 2. Heat Gun STEINEL _3483 Air Outlet temperature, adjust the Heat Gun temperature regulation button and wind force regulation button, to make the temperature of Air Outlet to be 390℃ ±10℃,air force to be Step 1, as shown in Figure 13. 3. Pay attention to ESD protection, one must wear Electric-Static Discharge Wrist strap when contacting PCBA board and components. 4. The position of hand holding Heat Gun handle is shown in Figure 14. figure 13 1.3 figure 14 III,Operation Steps for Manual Soldering When manually soldering SIM800H module to SIM800H-TE_V1.02 board, SIM800H-TE_V1.02 board could be independently placed on the Repair Fixture; In addition, during the manual soldering process, pay attention to the control of the Heat Gun Handle position, tweezer position and Heat Gun heating time, to avoid the long time heating which will cause PCBA delamination. SIM800H Module Manual Soldering User Guide 6 05.05.2014 SIM800H Module Manual Soldering User Guide The following test parameters are just for reference: 1. The Heat Gun starting power is in set II, temperature is 390℃±10℃, air force is grade 1, the soldering time of SIM800H module is about 180S. 2. The Electric Iron temperature setting is 350±10℃. The correct manual soldering operation process is as following: Coat the solder pad U101 of SIM800H-TE_V1.02 board evenly with Soldering Flux Paste --- Coat the solder pad U102 of SIM800H-TE_V1.02 board with Tin---Coat the solder pad of SIM800H module evenly with Soldering Flux Paste ---Coat the solder pad of SIM800H module with Tin--- Correctly put the SIM800H module into the U101 frame of SIM800H-TE_V1.02 board according to the silk screen printing or positioning pad--- Start to solder SIM800H module with Heat Gun, withdraw Heat Gun after soldering, the solder is completed. Instruction of manual soldering operation: 1. Coat the solder pad U101 of SIM800H-TE_V1.02 board evenly with Soldering Flux Paste. The operation instruction: (as shown in Figure 15,16) When coating U101 pad with Coat the solder pad flux paste, do not put too U101 with Soldering much, it should cover all the Flux Paste area and be even. figure 15 figure 16 2. Coat the solder pad U102 of SIM800H-TE_V1.02 board with Tin. The Electric Iron temperature setting is 360±10℃. The operation instruction: (as shown in Figure 17,18) When coating U101 pad Coat the U101 pad with Tin, do not put too with Tin by much on each pad, it Electric Iron should be even and smooth. figure 17 figure 18 3. Coat the solder pad of SIM800H module evenly with Soldering Flux Paste. The operation instruction: (as shown in Figure 19, 20) SIM800H Module Manual Soldering User Guide 7 05.05.2014 SIM800H Module Manual Soldering User Guide Coat the solder When coating SIM800L pad of SIM800L module pad with flux module with paste, do not put too Soldering Flux much, it should cover all Paste the area and be even. figure 19 figure 20 4. Coat the solder pad of SIM800H module with Tin. The Electric Iron temperature setting is 360±10℃. The operation instruction: (as shown in Figure 21,22) When coating SIM800H Coat SIM800H module pad with Tin, do not module pad with put too much on each pad, it Tin by Electric should be even and smooth. Iron figure 21 figure 22 5. Correctly put the SIM800H module into the U101 frame of SIM800H-TE_V1.02 board according to the silk screen printing or positioning pad, prepare to solder. The operation instruction: (as shown in Figure 23) The ‘Triangle’ in the upper left corner of U101 pad is the Origin, it is marked in the red circle. figure 23 6. Solder SIM800H module. The Heat Gun Power switch is in set II, the temperature is 400℃, air force is grade 1, the soldering time of SIM800H module is about 180S. The operation instruction: (as shown in Figure 24, 25) Take the Heat Gun handle by the left hand, then make it vertical to the SIM800H module mother board and revolve the Heat Gun slowly to preheat the module evenly, and keep the whole welding frame stable. When continuous soldering time is about 130S, if the Tin around the SIM800H Module Manual Soldering User Guide 8 05.05.2014 SIM800H Module Manual Soldering User Guide module begins to melt, use the tweezer gently stir the module PCB base board (Slightly stir, the shift should be smaller than 0.5mm). If the module could not finish reposition automatically, it means Tin in the heating place is not melted completely, so need to keep heating it with Heat Gun, until when slightly stirring the module, it could do reposition automatically, then the module soldering is complete, remove the Heat Gun and turn off power, the manual soldering is finished. The operation instruction is as in the following: Soldering SIM800H Soldered module by Heat Gun. SIM800H module figure 24 1.4 figure 25 IV,Manual Disassembly of SIM800H Module (Rework Procedure) When dissembling SIM800H module, the Heat Gun setting is same as the manual soldering (The Heat Gun Power switch is in set II, the temperature is 400℃, air force is grade 1, the dissembling time of SIM800H module is also about 180S.) The operation instruction: (as shown in Figure 26, 27, 28, 29) 1. When SIM800H module Tin begins to melt, put one of the tweezer tip into the tiny gap between SIM800H module bottom part and TE terminal SIM800H-TE_V1.02, slightly and stably take the SIM800H module. 2. Clipping the SIM800H module with tweezers at the right hand, stably clip it and place on the surface of the welding frame, let it cool down naturally. The module could not be shaking or flipping in the whole placing process, otherwise there is a risk that the electrical components inside SIM800H module will be mislocated, and BGA bridge, which causes the module damaged by human! After using the Heat Gun, it should be placed in the welding frame steadily, and be cautious that the conduct wire, plastic items and other miscellany will not touch the Heat Gun Air Nozzle, to avoid burning the wire, and cause electricity leakage accident. 2. When the Heat Gun power is on, the temperature of Heat and Hot Air near the Nozzle is about 100~450℃ high, so make sure don’t touch Hot Air or the metal part around the Nozzle, don’t use it near the inflammable gas or material. 3. If you don’t use Heat Gun for a long time, please turn off its power.
