Dorit Saphir / Selected works
Dorit Saphir’s creative background is diverse. She studied Architecture and City
Planning in Italy and Israel; Theatre, Cinema and Television at Tel Aviv University
and Painting under the tutelage of Professor John Byle and painter Harold Rubin at
Artist House – The Association of Israeli Painters and Sculptors.
Dorit participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Israel and abroad
and her work can be found in various collections.
She also produced and directed several documentaries for Israeli television.
“My sources of inspiration stem from prehistoric cave drawings and symbolize
ancient archetypes, forming a unique visual language through which I seek to hint at
a reality that is concealed beyond the visible: myths, mythology, and anecdotes of
a wild and primitive era. The full narrative is left to the imagination of the viewer”
