VALUABLE CARGO
Agility Fairs & Events Oman (Global Logistics (Oman) LLC) has been appointed as the sole
official customs clearing and onsite handling agent for ‘The International Jewellery Exhibition
(MIJEX) 2015 and we will be glad to assist you in the forwarding and clearance of the exhibition
goods to MIJEX 2015 in Oman. The Oman Customs Authority working in line with international
conventions allows for ‘Temporary Import’ of exhibits and display materials into Oman for
MIJEX 2015, subject to it is consigned to the official appointed forwarder of the event.






All valuable shipments will be transported from airport to the strong room at the exhibition
center in secured vehicle with Police escort. Vice-versa for the re-export.
Exhibition site will be customs bonded and the customs inspection will be at the exhibition
center (strong room) in the presence of the exhibitor only.
Shipments for International Jewellery Exhibition (MIJEX) Oman can be cleared on
temporary basis without payment of Customs Deposit / Duty.
Sale is permitted during the exhibition.
Transfer of shipments for private demonstrations or sale outside the exhibition center prior
or after the exhibition is not permitted.
Exhibitor has to insure the shipments on door-to-door basis from their side directly
including handling in Oman, transportation & exhibition period.
Procedure for hand-carry shipments









Exhibitor has to forward the copy of all shipping documents at least 5 days prior to their
arrival at airport.
Exhibitor has to provide the passengers’ details hand-carrying the shipment (name,
passport copy, flight details, exhibiting company etc.,) at least 5 days prior to their arrival at
airport.
Upon arrival, passengers should proceed to the Agility counter ‘MIJEX 2015, Oman’.
Organizer’s / Agility’s representatives will be present at the counter along with the Customs
Officers.
Passenger has to handover the shipments along with the shipping documents to Agility/
Customs Officer at the counter.
In the presence of the passenger/exhibitor, Customs Officer will seal the package and
issue a custody receipt for the hand-carry shipment.
Hand-carry shipments will be transferred on secured vehicle with Police escort to the
strong room available at the exhibition center.
Exhibitor has to provide the original custody receipt for the inspection at the strong room.
Customs will unseal the package in the presence of the Exhibitor for verification / Customs
inspection.

Procedure for Airfreight shipments (Valuable Cargo)





Exhibitor has to forward the pre-alert along with copy of Air Waybill and all other shipping
documents at least 5 days prior to the arrival of shipment at airport.
Upon arrival, shipments will be transferred to the strong room at airport.
Thereafter, shipments will be transferred with Police escort to the strong room available at
the exhibition center.
Exhibitor has to provide the original shipping documents for the customs inspection at the
strong room at exhibition center.
Customs will inspect and verify the shipment in the presence of Exhibitor.
Re-Export Procedures – Airfreight & Hand-Carry shipments








For re-export, customs will inspect the shipment in the presence of exhibitor at exhibition
center and seal the baggage.
Agility/Customs will issue custody receipt for hand-carry shipments.
Customs duty @ 5% of CIF Value will be applicable for the sold items / non-return items.
Customs duty should be settled by the exhibitor ‘as cash’ on daily basis – during or before
the close of exhibition hours - after declaring the sold items on the ‘invoice’. Cheque /
Credit Card payments are not acceptable.
Re-export hand-carry baggage will be transferred to Muscat airport passenger terminal.
For hand-carry shipments, exhibitor/ passenger has to meet Agility/Customs
Representative at the designated area at airport passenger terminal to receive the
baggage against original custody receipt.
Re-export airfreight shipment will be transferred to Muscat airport cargo handling area.
For airfreight shipments, Air Waybill will be issued and handed over to the exhibitor /
passenger at Muscat airport.
Cargo Arrival / Departure Dates
INBOUND
 Exhibition site will be opened from 24th May 2015 onwards.
 Suggest the hand-carry shipments arrive at Muscat airport from 24th May 2015 onwards.
 Shipments will be collectively transported from airport to exhibition center.

OUTBOUND



Hand-carry shipments will be transferred to the airport from 30th May 2015 midnight
onwards till 1700 hrs on 31st May 2015
Ensure that the customs duty will be settled in full and the customs inspection will be
completed latest by 1st June 2015 before 8 am.
Suggest exhibitors should book their return tickets for 1st June 2015 morning hours starting
from 6 am and not exceeding 2nd June 2015 noon hours.
Documents required



2 x Original legalised Commercial Invoice/Packing list. The invoice / Packing List must be
on exhibitor’s original letter-head and bear original signature in blue ink & stamp and the
following information: Number of packages, itemized description of goods, itemized visible
engraved serial number, photograph of individual item with tag number, itemized
harmonized code, itemized value, total CIF value indicating currency code, total number of
items, total number of packages, country of origin and the remark that the ‘shipment is for
temporary import into Oman for International Jewellery Exhibition (MIJEX) 2015, Oman
and will be re-exported after the exhibition’.
2 x sets of Photographs of individual item with tag number
