Personal Safety & Safety Precautions (Continued)
ALWAYS place the vehicle transmission in Park and
shut off the engine before mounting the material handler
to the truck bed. For ease of maneuvering the material
handler, position the vehicle on a flat, level and smooth
surface.
ALWAYS make sure bystanders are a minimum 30 feet
away while operating the material handler or attachments. Material can be off-loaded, spread or chipped
at a high rate of speed and potentially injure people
close to the equipment.
NEVER use chains or ratchet straps alone to hold the
material handler in the vehicle. The material handler
must be bolted to the vehicle frame for safe operation.
NEVER leave material in the material handler. Always
empty and clean out the material handler after each
use. Material can freeze and become solid, resulting in
bridging or poor operation of the equipment.
NEVER allow the cab control for the material handler
to block or hinder operation of the vehicle air bag system.
Review the vehicle owner’s manual to identify all air bag
deployment areas.
NEVER remove the box support ribs when loading material that can place pressure on the sidewalls. The
weight of the material could bow the walls and damage
the material handler.
ALWAYS inspect the truck bed mount plate hardware

Thread Galling: STAINLESS STEEL fasteners are susceptible to thread galling. Thread lubrication and slower installation speeds help reduce friction and heat.
Note: Torque-tension relationship will be altered with the use of a lubricant.
