Bite-size: Excel Computing and IT Bite-size - what’s it all about? Duration Bite-size sessions are an opportunity to attend short, targeted training sessions on any one or more of a number of specific topics that we know people struggle with. Before moving on to the more advanced topics you’ll have the opportunity to attend a beginners bite-size session which will help you get to grips with the basics. We’ll be adding more topics to the bite-size offer, so we’d love to hear your ideas for future bite-size sessions. Bite-size sessions run for 2 hours with selected topics held morning (9.30am 11.30am) and afternoon (1pm - 3pm). How will I learn? When and where? Bite-sessions are held one day a week, bi-weekly at the Learning and Development Centre, Trowbridge (just across the road from County Hall). Bitesize topics will be published weekly on HR Direct/Learning and development/Workshop dates and venues. Bite-size sessions are trainer-led with a good mix of demonstrations and practical exercises to consolidate your learning. You’ll receive an electronic guide which will serve as a useful reference guide back in the workplace. Non-council staff should visit www.learninginwiltshire.org.uk to view upcoming bite-size topics or contact us by phone or email (see below). Who will benefit from attending? Costs Bite-size sessions are ideal for those who use Excel regularly and often need to manipulate large amounts of data or learn some of Excel’s more advanced functionality. If you find yourself struggling with the same things over and over, then a bite-size session could be the answer. The beginners bite-size will give new and inexperienced users of Excel a solid foundation knowledge of the basics. Corporately funded for Wiltshire Council employees. Each bite-session is just £30 for others, delivering excellent value. Will I be assessed? There are no formal assessments or examinations.
