The Citadel is pleased to announce a new Open House called Discover The Citadel. “Discover,”
which is set for Friday afternoon, 31 October 2014, will be an informational program that gives
attendees an opportunity to spend an afternoon on campus learning about the admissions
process, financial aid, academics, athletics, ROTC, and other aspects of the Citadel Experience.

11. Lenoir-Rhyne University. In response to the loss of the Teaching Fellows program, LenoirRhyne University launches its own Teaching Scholars program. The university will provide
scholarships of $5,500 per year for four years to incoming freshmen. The funds are awarded in
addition to all other financial aid for which students may already qualify. LR’s Teaching Scholars
will be selected on the basis of their potential for academic excellence as a university student
and a sincere desire to serve others through a career in teaching. Learn more or apply today!

until all scholarships have been awarded.
12. SunTrust off to college scholarship sweepstakes – Thirty (30) $500 scholarships will be
awarded for education expenses at a college or university. Open to high school seniors and
current undergraduate college students. Eligibility not based on GPA or financial need.

13. The 2014-15 Virtual Business Scholarship application is now available online. The
application is accessible at: www.KnowledgeMatters.com/scholarships. Business, marketing and
finance students currently enrolled in their junior and senior years of high school throughout the
United States are eligible for the scholarship. The applications will be judged nationally and the
winner will receive $2,000. Applications are due by April 1, 2015.
14. The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program selects 1,000 talented students
each year to receive a good-through-graduation scholarship to use at any college or
university of their choice. The 2015 GMS Online Application is open until the
Wednesday, January 14, 2015 11:59 pm EST deadline. For the complete list of

15. The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation supports more than 1,400 college students each year, with annual
scholarships of $3.4 million through two nationally recognized programs on behalf of the Coca-Cola System.
Scholarship recipients excel academically and in service to others. Most Coca-Cola Scholars share a passion
for social justice and many have overcome tremendous challenges to pursue their dreams.
High school seniors throughout the United States who meet the eligibility requirements may apply for one of our
four-year, achievement-based scholarships. The application deadline is October 31. Visit:

16. 2015 BrokerFish Scholarship for University Students - $1,000. The BrokerFish $1,000 University
Scholarship is available in 2015 to students who are graduating their final year of high school. Applicants
must be students who will pursue a full-time undergraduate "degree", "diploma" or equivalent program by

17. Roanoke College Scholars receive approximately $2000,000 over four years. Roanoke

20. Martin Luther King, Jr. Minority Student Scholarship Applications are now available in
Guidance. Awards are offered to students attending the Alamance County School System and
affiliated with Inter-Denominational Ministerial Alliance (IDMA) organizations. Scholarship
recipients can be enrolled in any approved higher education institution pursuing continuing
education or higher education credits. Two (2) or more scholarship awards in the amount of
$1,000 each will be available each year to eligible students. Application deadline is November
1.
