Cautions and Information (1) The student must make sure before submitting his / her application that he / she can expect substantial sum of financial support from someone, or that he / she has prepared enough money to pay all expenses and living costs necessary to complete the course in which he / she wishes to enroll. The student should not make an optimistic estimation of the cost of living in Tokyo - well known as one of the most expensive cities in the world. Also, it is forbidden by Japanese immigration law to earn large amounts of money by working as a student (including private or part-time job) during study in Japan. (2) The student’s Japanese guarantor must be very reliable, confidential, and easy to contact by the college because being a guarantor is a very large responsibility. To help you or represent you for the application procedure to the college and the legal procedures to the immigration office, the guarantor will have to visit us or make contact with us frequently, and will also occasionally need to go to the Japanese immigration offices. The guarantor’s responsibilities also include monetary matters and matters concerning the student’s living situation and the student’s level of achievement while he / she is in Japan as a student. As this is the case, the student and his / her guarantor must have a trusting relationship and the student must keep in contact with him / her while he / she is a student of BFC. (3) The college’s administration officers cannot help the student obtain his / her passport and / or visa except in the case of issuing the admission certificate to the college and the student identification card. The student (with help of his / her guarantor in Japan) is responsible to get all the necessary information and perform all the necessary procedures for getting his / her passport and student visa. (4) Bunka Fashion College has a strong relationship with the Bunka Institute of Language. Both are parts of the Bunka Gakuen Education Foundation. The institute is one of the most reliable and famous institutes of Japanese language instruction for foreigners.
