Lugs may be welded to the pulpit tubes to allow a strop to be clipped across the resulting gap. Additional material may be added to the underside of the stop blocks on the bilgeboards to absorb any shock loads in the event of a board lifting line being released without control. The supplied block may be replaced with an alternative material, but may not permit the bilgeboard to extend further from the hull’s surface than the standard block permits. Additionally, the bolts may be extended through the board, with a compression tube of ID 10mm x OD 14mm (min) and employing an A4-80 stainless steel M10 bolt and additional stop blocks fitted to the inside face of the boards, with cut outs made to the deck cover plate no larger than the existing outboard cut outs. A webbing strap shall be fitted under the top batten of the J1 to which a drop line may be attached to aid in lowering the J1 sail from the cockpit. For the Race sails and during the Race the components shall be supplied by an approved supplier. It is permitted to install additional wet-weather gear hanging rails aft of bulkhead E and/or aft of bulkhead C provided that the rail shall not be longer than 1300mm. The forward support shall be bonded to bulkhead C/E. The aft support may be provided by a soft pad eye attached to the underside of the deck, or using the standard support mounted on a permanent bracket. However, no holes shall be drilled in the deck, or any material removed. Modification may be carried out by the team. Team detail. Modification of supplied equipment only.
