Visit the Festival Poteau Balloon Fest Event Location: LeFlore County Fair Grounds 5015 South Broadway, Poteau, Oklahoma 74953 October 18 & 19 The Poteau Balloon Fest is an annual event held in October of each year. Gate admission is $5 per person, children 4 and under are free. The $5 gate admission includes free entertainment and viewing for popular shows such as Famous Flying Dogs, BMX Freestyle Team, Rumble on the River Mud Race and Derek Cook FMX. While we try to make the Poteau Balloon Fest as affordable as possible not everything can be entirely free, some additional costs may include carnival rides, tethered balloon rides, helicopter rides, monster truck rides, other rides and attractions, and parking on main fair grounds. Please note that free parking is available at Carl Albert State College and the Poteau Industrial Park. A number of free shuttle busses are also available for transportation to and from the fair grounds. Any and all balloon flights are most likely to occur between the hours of 7am - 10am and 4pm -7pm. However, they are not guaranteed during these times. One boy and one girl will be chosen from each age division as King and Queen. The boy and girl named as winner in each division will receive a crown and banner. A Grand Supreme Winner with the highest overall points out of all contestants will also be chosen. The Grand Supreme winner will receive a crown, sash and voucher from a local photographer. Contestants will be judged on the following categories. Dress/Attire, Smile, Personality & Photogenic qualities. For photogenic, please submit (1) small (approximate size 3x5) photograph of your child. Name and age must be printed on the back of the photo. Do not bring photos in frames or with matting. To receive photogenic score, photos must accompany registration form. Photogenic will be judged prior to start of the pageant. Rules: Please be respectful of all other contestants and participants. Please respect the judges and their decision. Their decision is final. Any adult may accompany children 5 and under on stage. This is for safety and will not be counted off by the judges. Videotaping and photography will be allowed. Dress Attire: Please feel free to dress your child in whatever you like, as long as it is appropriate, HOWEVER, please be aware this is a FAIRGROUNDS! We will not be responsible for damage TO ANY PAGEANT DRESSES OR ATTIRE!
