TEDD Platform and Concept of the Annual Meeting
Since its foundation in 2011 the competence centre TEDD organizes
company visits, workshops and symposia combining industry and
academia in order to promote 3D cell culture. With the help of seed
money a few network projects could be started resulting in several
CTI projects running successfully. In addition, we coordinated a
special theme issue in Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews published in
April 2014, «Innovative tissue models for drug discovery and
development».
Grown on the TEDD platform a proposal for a National Research
Program (NFP) was submitted in January 2014. From 69 proposals
our topic is currently under evaluation in a feasibility study by the
Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) together with five other
research programs. The title of our program is «3D meets 3R –
Organ-like tissue models with prospects for medicine and animal
welfare».
