The Sacrament of Confirmation
Tuesday, October 14th at 7 PM
at St Mary’s Church
A Family Perspective
Today’s gospel speaks about
“unworthy wedding guests.” What
makes a “worthy” guest? Presence and presents are
not enough. The greatest gift we can give is support
to the couple as they voyage through life together
because marriage naturally contains within it the
fields of disappointment. Think of the weddings you
have attended. Have you been a “worthy “guest?
Pre-Baptism Class
A Preparation Class for parents of babies to be
baptized is required at our parishes. Godparents
and others are welcome to attend, but are not
required. The next preparation class will be held at the
Parish Center on Tuesday, October 21st at 7 PM. You
are not required to register beforehand.
Organ Concert!
Join us on Saturday, October 25th at 7 PM for an organ
concert in celebration of the bicentennial of the Unitarian
Universalist Church of Cortland. This concert will feature
local organists Paulette Fry, Dr Stephen Wilson, Lynn
Koch and our Armand DiScenna!
Advance sale tickets are available at The Picture House or
at www.cortlandarts.com. Cost: Adults - $15 or 2 for $25.
Students are admitted free. Adults at the door $20.
Ticket sales will benefit the organ fund at the Unitarian
Universalist Church as well as the Cultural Council of
Cortland County.
