Airtight reactor allows students to carry out chemical experiment (except
combustions) releasing product at gaseous state.
Thanks to its transparency, students can observe the chemical reactions inside
the reactor. The cover is equipped with two airtight outlets to connect various
instruments (pressure sensor, gas trap, CO2 cartridge…) and with a security valve
to avoid overpressure. A reagent holder has been designed to put reagents inside
the container and to trigger the reaction after it has been closed.

Evaluate the heat of ethanol’s combustion by measuring the
increase in temperature of a water volume
Composition
The principle of the experiment is based on the comparison between the
quantity of ethanol used to increase the temperature of a determined volume
of water (schema 1 ) and the quantity of electrical energy necessary to
generate the same increase with the same volume of water (schema 2 ).
The beaker, ethanol lamp and safety cables are not supplied with this device.

This electrode support allows students to carry out electrochemical connections
very easily (electrolysis, test of conduction of liquids, battery elements…).
It can be adjusted on 100 ml and 250 ml beakers. Dowel pins ensure its steady
positioning. It fits with Ø 8 mm cylindrical electrodes and 19x0.8 mm section
metal thin strips.
The solid brass connectors resist to corrosion and are compatible with Ø 4 mm
security banana sockets. To tighten the carbon electrodes without crushing
them, the setscrew is equipped with a stop.
