SANCTION:
The Meet is held under the sanction of USA Swimming and Midwestern Swimming, Inc.

LOCATION:

POOL:
 Indoor 25-yard pool. Six racing lanes with starting blocks at deep end, non-turbulent lane dividers. Daktronics
timing system with touch pads and display.
 The water depth of the competition pool measured for a distance of 3’ 3 1/2” (1.0 meter to 16’ 5” (5.0 meters) from
the start wall is 10’1” and the water depth at the end or turn wall when measured for a distance of 3’ 3 ½” to 16’ 5”
(5.0 meters) is 3’7” to 4’1”. (USA-S Rule 202.3.4.D). All deep end (10’1”) starts. 25 yard events will start in deep
end; 2nd and 4th swimmers in 100 yd relays will start in the water.
 Pool has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2C(4)
FACILITY:
 SCH reserves the right to remove from the premises any individual who might jeopardize safety and facility
privileges.
 Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted behind the blocks, in changing
areas, rest rooms, or locker rooms.
SCHEDULE:
If necessary, there will be two sessions of warm-ups. The first session will begin at 7:15 – 8:00, with the second one
from 8:00-8:45. Meet Start Time: 9:00 a.m.
Structured break will be taken – length to be determined by four-hour time limit.

DISABILITY
SWIMMERS:
Athletes with a disability are welcomed and shall provide advance notice of desired accommodations to the Meet
Director. The athlete (or the athlete’s coach) is also responsible for notifying the Deck Referee of any disability prior to
competition.
RULES:
Current USA Swimming and Midwestern Rules will govern this meet.

ENTRY LIMITS:
 Swimmers may enter five individual events and two relay events.
 The 4-hour rule will be applied. The host will accept no further entries for a session with 12 & U swimmers where
the 4-hour projected time limit is reached (205.3.1F). The Meet Director reserves the right to limit events, heats,
teams, and swimmers to conform to the 4-hour time limit. Teams will be notified of any and all adjustments.
ENTRY FEES:
$2.50 per individual event
$5.00 per relay
$6.00 MW Splash Fee per swimmer
No Refunds.
Presentation of current coach credentials will be required at coach sign-in. Credentials shall be available at all
times.
 In accordance with MWS Policy, only those coaches with current, valid USA Swimming credentials available will be
permitted to act in a coaching capacity at this meet. Coaches who do not possess these credentials will be required
to leave the deck area.
All swimmers, coaches, and clubs must be currently registered with USA Swimming.
The age of the swimmer on December 6, 2014 determines his/her age for the entire meet.
Late/Deck entries will require proof of USA Swimming registration.
Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by a USA Swimming member coach, must be certified by a USA
Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the
water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this
requirement.
ENTRIES PROCEDURE:  Entries may be submitted either in electronic format (Hy-Tek meet entry file) or on a Meet Entry Form.
 Times must be entered as Yard times.
 A check/money order must accompany the entries prior to start of the meet, payable to Sioux Center Seahawks.

 Any entries submitted will be verified as soon as possible.
ENTRY DEADLINE:
 All entries must be received by noon on Wednesday, November 26, 2014.
 Psych sheets will be sent to club entry chair within 24 hours of entry deadline. Clubs will have 48 hours after psych
sheets are sent to make corrections.
 Although pre-registration is strongly encouraged, late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Meet
Director and Entry Chair. Swimmer will incur an additional $2.00 per event ($4.50), which must be paid at the time
of registration and must provide proof of USA Swimming registration.

GENERAL MEET
CONDUCT:
 All events will be timed finals.
 All events are pre-seeded. Swimmers 19 and over will be seeded with the 18 and under swimmers but will be
scored separately.
 If possible, report all scratches ahead of time. There is no penalty for scratching an event.
 Each swimmer shall report promptly to their assigned lane prior to the start of each race in which he/she is entered.
 Fly-over starts may be used at the discretion of the meet referee.
 Starts will be off blocks in the deep end of the pool. Any shallow end start will be in the water.
WARM-UPS:




Meet Marshals will be on hand to enforce warm-up procedures.
Each team will be assigned lanes for warm-ups.
No starts will be allowed for the first 30 minutes of warm-ups. Swimmers are to sit and slide entering the water.
During the last 30 minutes of warm-ups, all lanes will be used for sprints and starts.
TEAM SUPERVISION:  Changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is prohibited. Midwestern
penalties will apply (MWS Policies and Procedures 8.5.14)
 Each team must provide an adult with non-athlete USA Swimming membership to supervise the swimmers in the
team area at all times.
 Only registered coaches, swimmers and officials will be allowed on deck.
SCORING:
 Meet will not be scored.
AWARDS:
 Ribbons will be awarded for individual events 1st through 6th place in each event.
 Ribbons are awarded for 1st through 3rd place relays.
 Results of open events & 12 & under events will be scored by age, ie. 8 & U, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18 and 19 &
Over.
FINAL RESULTS:
 Meet results will be posted on the MW website at www.mwswim.org within 48 hrs of the meet conclusion.
CONCESSIONS:
 Meet programs and food items will be available at the concession stand.
PHOTOGRAPHY POLICY  The MWS Photography Policy will be followed (MWS Policies and Procedures 8.5.15). Photographers taking pictures
must adhere to MW policies and have advanced, written permission from the Meet Director or the Meet Referee to
be on deck.
