NEW ITEMS:
 College Bound Scholars – The Kent School District’s annual College Bound Scholarship
Conference is scheduled for this Saturday, October 11th at Green River Community College. This
event will include College Readiness and Planning Workshops, PSAT Preparation, College
Application Support, Workshops for Parents, and a College Fair. Registration begins at 7:30 am
and the conference ends at noon. If you are a College Bound Scholar, this is a do-not miss event.

Hey DECA members! This Sunday, October 12th is the DECA day at the Pumpkin Patch. Get
your field trip form in by tomorrow to attend! Monday is our next meeting. We will be going over
competition categories. See you then!

LEAP peer leaders are meeting tomorrow after school in room B19. Don’t forget to bring your registration
forms.
REVIEW ITEMS:

Current National Honor Society Members, our next meeting is Monday, 10/13 after school in a
new location, C-2. This meeting is mandatory for all current members, and the make-up meeting
will be held in Ms. Koehn’s room, 222 on Tuesday, October 14 at 7:15. This meeting is for current
members only. New Members, your first NHS meeting will be in November, after the Induction
Ceremony. See you there.

Pies and Poinsettias are now on sale through October 22nd. Various pie flavors colors and flavors
are available to order from any music student. Pies will be delivered on Nov 19 just in time for
Thanksgiving! Poinsettias are delivered on Dec 4.

If you ordered spirit wear from the PTSA, it is now available in the attendance office for you to
pick up.

Hey KR it’s that time of year again! The National PTA Reflections Arts Program is under way and
we are hoping to have more students participate than ever before! This years theme is “The World
Would Be A Better Place If…”. Think about what this statement means to you and how you feel
like you can best answer the prompt. Entries are accepted in the categories of literature, visual art,
photography, music composition, film, and choreography/dance. FINAL deadline to turn in is
Friday November 14th.

CGC Members! Our next meeting is today after school. We will be signing up for tournaments.
The games will be Data 2, League of Legends, and Starcraft 2. Team leaders please email

Any freshman interested in becoming a class senator will need to pick up a packet available in the
in the Activities Office during lunches. Freshman class elections will be held next Wednesday,
October 15th.


 Gay, Straight Alliance meets every Monday after school in room B19. Everyone is welcome to
attend.
 ZAP time is on Mondays and Wednesdays. Language Arts ZAP time is in B6, Science ZAP time
is in 223, Social Studies ZAP time is in 214, Math ZAP time is in A20, and all Electives are in
D1. If you are assigned to ZAP time you need to be there from 2:25-3:25. Remember, if you do
your school work, and turn it in, you will never be ZAPPED!
