Fishery Reports Wintons Fishery Burgess Hill, West Sussex Dave Griffith - 77lb 4lb cat Another great month of fishing has been had at Wintons and the lakes are looking really picturesque with Autumn now upon us. More and more members have left the car park happy having caught new PB’s during their sessions. This fully endorses our slogan ‘Wintons the home of your next PB’ – so well done to all those anglers who have attained their targets for the season already. I would like to mention Ian Parris, who took an amazing catch of carp from the fat finger on Kingfisher Lake during early September. Ian caught a 45lb mirror (big mirror), 33lb 8oz common, 26lb 9oz common plus a 16lb koi. Ian was fishing a 48 hour session and it wonderful to hear the news he’d caught a 40, 30, 20 & a double in one session! Well done! Please see our website for the evening’s agenda. MALLARD LAKE - Jack Webb-Olley fishing from peg 7 and using salmon boilies caught his new PB catfish a hard fighting 69lb specimen. John Levett caught his new PB catfish from peg 12 at 42lb 8oz, beating his previous best by 8oz. Michael Marlow fished peg 11 and using halibut pellet managed six catfish weighing 24lb 7oz, 23lb 11oz, seven weighing 53lb 1oz plus a 34lb cat and a low double again taken on halibut pellet. Peter Barnet fished peg 13 and using krill boilies caught five catfish weighing 56lb, 32lb 12oz, 21lb, 10lb & 5lb. Ryan Higgins got amongst the carp from peg 17 and caught eight carp weighing 13lb, 16lb, 19lb, 28lb 7oz PB, 16lb, 23lb, 24lb and 24lb all on cell Mainline boilies. Gary Maddocks caught a PB catfish from peg three weighing 64lb on halibut pellet. Kevin Dickinson using cell and hybrid boilies fished from peg 11 and had three commons weighing 20lb 6oz, 27lb 7oz, 33lb 4oz PB and two double figure cats. Ashley Waters lost a couple of big cats, but managed to land from peg one an 18lb 5oz common, 15lb koi and a 20lb cat. Bob Standen using cell boilies from peg 18 caught three catfish, weighing 37lb, 35lb & 10lb plus his desired quarry a 21lb 7oz common. Glen Chico Greene from Sheffield dropped into peg 16 and caught his first ever catfish weighing 36lb PB along with others of 20lb 4oz, 36lb and a lovely mirror carp weighing 28lb 14oz. James Parsons caught from peg three two catfish weighing 36lb and 32lb 8oz. Gary Cochrane caught a 58lb catfish from peg three on a robin red nugget. Lou Stempien fishing from peg 11 and using cell and nuggets caught a carp and cat weighing 18lb 8oz and 20lb 13oz respectively. Steve ‘text a lot’ Wheatley caught four catfish on shrimp pellets weighing 56lb 8oz, 10lb, 36lb and 50lb. Jason Statham caught his first catfish, a PB of 22lb 8oz. Glyn Jones had an amazing haul of cats from peg seven, weighing 79lb 10oz PB, 72lb, 71lb, 61lb, 51lb, 52lb, 53lb, 55lb, 56lb, 59lb, 59lb plus three 30’s, 13 20’s, six doubles and a bonus common of 20lb. Nic ‘Dutchy’ Warmink caught his PB catfish during a day only session, weighing 75lb 7oz on a sausage! Michael Marlow had 10 catfish, including a new lake record during a 72 hour session from peg 7, Mikes catch weighed 66lb 7oz, 65lb 8oz, 80lb 1oz NEW LAKE RECORD AND PB, 76lb 12oz, 21lb 8oz, 35lb 4oz, 54lb 12oz, 60lb 9oz, 55lb & 58lb 7oz plus a common 34lb 11oz, leather 17lb 10oz and a common of 29lb 14oz. Dave Griffin fishing from peg 3 caught two catfish weighing 66lb 4oz and 77lb 4oz PB using pellet and cell. Martin Taylor fishing from peg one managed two commons weighing 12lb and 24lb. Aaron Duplock found the carp feeding from peg 16 and landed eight weighing common 8lb, common 26lb 8oz, common 19lb 8oz, koi 19lb 4oz, koi 18lb 6oz, mirror 25lb 4oz, common 29lb PB and common 28lb 12oz. Adam Cheal - 27lb common 14 Mike Marlow - 80lb 1oz cat Freshwater Informer - October 2014 KINGFISHER LAKE - Richard Fleming saved blanking in the dying minutes of his session with a 19lb 8oz common using cell boilies – perseverance hey! Ian Parris fishing the Jacuzzi swim caught a 26lb 6oz koi and a 26lb 4oz common on cell boilies. Andy Lennon fishing from the gatepost peg 31 caught the elusive “Upfront Common” weighing 45lb on a dog biscuit off the top along with a 25lb common and Adam Cheal - 44lb 8oz mirror a 17lb 4oz koi. Ian Taylor managed to bank a common from peg 26 weighing 31lb 3oz whilst Ryan Smith caught after him a 23lb 6oz koi from the same swim. Adam chilli son Cheal had a great 72 hour session catching two commons weighing 27lb 8oz, 27lb and his first UK 40 the big mirror at 44lb 8oz all taken on mainline hybrid boilies. Matt Cook fished peg 40 and caught three carp weighing 12lb, 19lb and a 31lb 8oz common. Craig Wallis used cell boilies to take a common of 28lb 8oz from the royal box. Rob Young had a lovely conditioned from peg 31 weighing 30lb 3oz. Andy Lennon was back to take two commons weighing 31lb 8oz and 23lb 7oz plus two kois weighing 24lb 5oz and the same fish again 24lb 5oz! Congratulations to Andy Lennon for catching the “upfront common”, Adam chilli son Cheal for landing his 1st UK 40 and Ian Parris for his amazing 40, 30, 20 & double in 1 session! HERON LAKE - Ollie Hunt caught his PB mirror carp on his first ever trip to Wintons weighing 29lb from peg 44. Ian Watling had two commons weighing 25lb and 18lb plus a bonus cat of 10lb. Member No 81 caught his PB catfish from peg 49 weighing 45lb 11oz. Henry Russell fishing peg 50 had a catfish of Ian Parris - 45lb 8oz mirror 35lb plus a common of 10lb. Matt Crabb from peg 37 caught a catfish weighing 32lb 2oz on krill boilies, whilst Simon Pound in peg 36 had three cats weighing 25lb 7oz, 32lb 7oz and 12lb 6oz. Leon Watson had two screaming takes and landed two cats weighing 18lb 8oz and 27lb 8oz. Simon Pound revisited peg 41 and christened his new rods with a 26lb 9oz cat. Tight lines Colin & Susy Iden Wood Fishery Iden, Rye, East Sussex SPRING LAKE - Fishing well for all species, corn the best all round bait, taking carp to 18lb, good roach, chub to 3lb, and skimmers to 2lb. MATCH LAKE - Carp feeding well with the onset of Autumn, best fish this month a 28lb mirror, and 24hour sessions producing up to 20 carp, corn and pellet still best baits, slugs also scoring well, fished close to the margins. Worm and maggot taking good catches of bream to 5lb, and skimmers. Caster the best bait for roach to 1lb, and worm producing perch to 2lb. MIDDLE LAKE - Fishing close to the margins and the island the best method for carp to 10lb, on pole, waggler or feeder, once again corn scoring well. Fish down the middle with maggot and worm for skimmers and roach. SPECIMEN LAKE - Best fish this month a 31lb mirror, taken off the island , pellet and corn working well. Match angler having good sport with quality roach, best match silverfish weight 17lb. Perch to 3lb taken on worm, fishing best when it is cloudy. Orchard Lake - Fishing corn and pellet close to the reeds the best method for carp to 18lb. Plenty of roach being caught on maggot an caster, and worm taking perch to 3lb.
