NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS
Attention All Students: Today is the final day to audition for the singing and speaking roles in the spring
musical, Fiddler on the Roof. Auditions will be held today after school in the Theatre. Please see Mrs. Elek
or Ms. King today if you have any questions.
Attention All Students: The Softball Boosters Club is hosting a Halloween Dance for High School
Students on October 25th in the High School Commons. The last day to purchase tickets is tomorrow,
Wed., Oct. 15th in the Gymnasium Lobby from 2:00 to 3:15 PM. Tickets are $10.00. Please contact Gina
Kormick, SFHS Softball Booster Club Treasurer with any questions regarding this event at

Attention Junior and Senior Girls: The annual Powder-Puff Football game is coming next month, Thur.,
Nov. 6th at 7:00 PM. Currently, there are not enough senior girls signed up! All powder-puff signup packets
are due Wed., Oct. 15th. This is the last day to sign up. No exceptions!
Attention Senior Girls: If you played Powder-Puff last year, you need to turn in your uniforms. They are
due Wed., Oct. 15th.
Attention CSI Club Members: the CSI Club t-shirts are in! There will be a CSI Club meeting on Thursday
in Mr. McGowan’s room AA103. They will pass out t-shirts and discuss field trips. If you cannot attend,
please see Mr. McGowan to get your t shirt.
Attention All Students: Bridgeville Food Bank needs your help! Anyone interested in volunteering at the
Bridgeville Food Bank this Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM should see Mrs. Martin in the Guidance
Office for more information.
Attention Girls Tennis Players: All tennis apparel must be turned into the Athletic Office by this Fri., Oct.
17th. Please put in a plastic bag with your name on it.
Attention All Students: Representatives from Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Akron, and
Thiel College will be here Thur., Oct. 16th during all lunch periods. Information will be available and the rep
will be glad to answer all your questions.

Attention Sophomores: Please be aware that we will be having a brief assembly this Thurs., Oct. 16th
during Per. 10 with a Jostens Representative to go over class ring ordering information.
Attention All Seniors: Please be aware that the Seniors will be having a brief assembly with Jostens this
Thurs., Oct. 16th during Per. 9 with a Jostens Representative who will be presenting information regarding
caps and gowns and graduation announcements.
Attention Criminal Science Club Members: The 2014-2015 CSC T-Shirts are in! The CSC will have a
meeting immediately after school on Thur., Oct. 16th in Mr. McGowan’s room AA103 to distribute t-shirts to
members and to also discuss plans for our field trip this year. If you cannot attend, please see Mr.
McGowan to get your t-shirt.

Congratulations to Elisabeth Iszauk, who is one of four winners in the Pennsylvania School Boards
Association's 2014 Essay Contest. PSBA received over 200 essays from around the state, and Elisabeth's
was a standout submission. She has been invited to read her essay at PSBA's annual School Leadership
Conference at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center. well done.
Attention Circle of Friends Members: Circle of Friends will meet today, Tues., Oct. 14th after school in
room AB224. They will plan a movie night out and a Halloween party.
Attention All Students: Do you like playing card, board, or video games? Do you want to learn what
makes a game effective, challenging, and--most of all--fun? Then talk to your guidance counselor to see if
you can sign up for ‘Game Design’—a new course to be taught this spring by Miss Scott. We’ll be creating,
play testing, and analyzing games based on the fundamentals of game design. See Miss Scott in room
AB224 with any questions.
Attention Seniors: An updated list of scholarship opportunities are available in the Guidance Office.

Attention All Students: There will be a Photography Club meeting tomorrow, Wed., Oct. 15th starting at
2:30 PM in the Band Room. See Maddison Miller or Diana Yanosko with any questions.
Attention All Students: Baseball workouts have begun! Coach Morgan is looking for new talent. If you
are interested in baseball, but have not filled out a player info sheet, please see Mr. Morgan. Off-season
workouts have already started and occur on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 4:00 PM. If you are not
currently involved in a fall sport or activity, it is highly encouraged that you attend. Attendance will be taken.

Attention All Students: Any student who is interested in pursuing a career in the trades should attend the
Rosedale Technical Open House on Saturday, Nov. 8th, from 9:30 AM-1:00 PM. Register by calling Sean
Barrett at 412-855-9956. The Registration Deadline is November 1st!
Attention all Sophomores and Juniors: A reminder to register for the practice SAT and ACT exams
being held at South Fayette in October and November. If you have any questions or need a new registration
form please see Mr. Yerace.
Attention all Students: If you are interested in signing up for the Mini-THON in April, please go to Mr.
Flannery’s room to get your signup forms. All money raised from the event will go to support the Four
Diamonds Fund to fight childhood cancer. Last year we had thirty teams and over 250 students participate
and raised over $21,000, and we hope to see you at this year’s event!

Attention All Students: Commonwealth Technical Institute is hosting its annual Career and Transition Fair
on October 22-24 in Johnstown, PA. South Fayette is not in session on Friday, October 24th. For more info,

Attention All Students: Attention all students who will be 18 years old by November 4th: Student
Government is sponsoring a Voter Registration Drive this week. Students that register to vote will be
entered into a raffle to win a $25 Visa gift certificate, and Student Government will pay the cost of postage
to mail in your application. More importantly, you will be able to vote in all Pennsylvania elections, including
US Presidential elections. Student Government strongly encourages you to register to vote if you are
eligible to! If you are eligible to vote, you must see your Economics teacher by Monday the 22nd to get a
voter application. You will need your driver’s license when you register.
Attention Seniors: Redford Photography will have your “selected” image online for purchase. The
senior image in the yearbook is free, but if you would like to purchase additional photos, please visit
sf.redfordphoto.com to place your order or call 724-743-5700. If you have any questions regarding the

Prom Announcement: Attention all students, the following are some details regarding Prom:
• Prom will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015
• Please be aware that times have CHANGED – Promenade will now begin at 4:00 p.m. AND the Prom
will be held from 6:00-11:00 p.m. (we will not have overnight prom anymore)
• Prom will be held at the Omni William Penn Hotel downtown in the William Penn Ballroom
• Tickets will cost $100 per person and $200 per couple
• Students can begin selling Sarris candy immediately to begin earning money off of their tickets!
Students interested in selling candy should see Mrs. Shrewsbury ASAP. The person who sells the
most candy this year wins TWO FREE PROM TICKETS!
