Woodlands Got Talent?
Can you sing? Can you dance? Can you
stand on your feet and play the banjo?
Woodlands Elementary School is hosting a
Talent Show on November 20 (International
Children’s Day). The Talent Show auditions
are on November 4 & 5. Auditions are free!
So please, come and see the talent show!
Admission is FREE…but there will be a
silver (or paper) collection at the front
door. All the money raised will go to helping
our twin school in Uganda! So please, think
of the children.

Small Schools Banner!!
A huge “Congratulations!” goes
out to all of the team members who
ran every day since the second week
of school in September. Many of
the athletes completed personal
bests at the meet and did well in
the team and individual events.
Intermediate Girls’ Team placed
2nd; Junior Girls’ Team placed 3rd
and the Primary Girls’ Team placed
2nd. Alex C. placed 2nd and Jordan
S. placed 3rd for Intermediate
Girls’ and Naomi V. placed 3rd in the
Junior Girls’ competition.
All of the athletes are to be
congratulated for trying their
best, not quitting when it got
tough, and finishing every race.
They represented our school with
pride and dignity. Mrs. Page and
Mrs. Ivany enjoyed coaching this
group and are very proud of their
efforts and abilities. We hope to
see all of you running again next
year!!

Woodlands Parent Advisory Council Minutes
Minutes of October 14, 2014 Meeting
Present : Merilee McClelland, Lisa Sund, Margaret-Ann Brad, Tara-lee Koss, Monique Legal-Deverill , and Mrs. Ross.
The meeting was called to order at 7:10pm.
Minutes of the September meeting were reviewed and accepted.
Treasurer’s Report: $1636.50
Hot Lunch Report: YAY! We have a good number of volunteers and hope to keep our hot lunch
program running twice a month!
Principal’s Report: Progress Conversations have replaced traditional Parent/Teacher meetings. This year
bring your child with you!!! This is a proactive approach to find out where your child’s strengths and weaknesses, where they have to be and how we can work together to get them on level.
Congratulations to the Cross Country team in Divisionals and coming home with the small school champions!

Volleyball has begun. Boys’ home tournament October 30 and Girls’ home tournament Nov 21
Halloween Parade will commence 2pm in the gym with classroom activities to follow at 2:50pm

WE Scare for Hunger food drive has begun and will run for the duration of the month.

New Business:
The BBQ for hot lunch program has broken. Motion for PAC to provide a new BBQ and/or electric grill posed
by Lisa. Margaret-Ann seconded. All in favor. PASSED.
Quiz night on Nov 7 planning is underway. Letters are being dispersed to local businesses for silent auction
prizes. If you would like to donate or enter a team please contact a PAC executive.
Future Agenda: Need some maintenance ideas for the upkeep of the outdoor classroom.
New School: Interior work has begun! Expected finish date late April. Rain has dampened some progress.
Next PAC meeting Nov 18, 2014 in the school library!
