Dear Grandma...

Dear Grandma...
I hope you are listening from the heaven's above, but I wish you
didn't have to go. I guess you are saying, "Well, there's no more
pain." I miss all the good times we had. I really miss you period. I
really didn't want you to go, but I guess it is the best thing for you.
It really broke my heart when I heard you were gone. You took care
of me from 4 weeks to what I am now. I wish you could have been
with me for more than 14 years. But I'm not going to complain
because it could have been shorter; so I'm really blessed you were in
my life. You were the closest person to me and my mother. So now
for me and my mother, it is like losing a mother. You were
everything...my heart, my life. I remember when I used to talk to
you about stuff I couldn't talk about with any other person. Without
you, it feels like I am nobody. I know if you were here, you would
want me to live my life right. I remember when I used to sing to
you; you always told me I had a beautiful voice. And I would laugh
and have so much fun with you. My last words to you were, "I love
you." If I had a say in this, I would have told Jesus to take me
instead. I know we had a few bad times, but we always got over
them. You were the first person that was like a mother to me. I really
love you and wish you didn't have to pass away. I want you to go
home and rest in peace grandma.
Love always...

God looked upon his garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this earth
and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain.
He knew you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb
So he closed your weary eyelids
And whispered "Peace be thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one
The chain will link again.
