program specifically designed to meet the
needs of patients and their families living
with cancer. Our practices are based on
providing each patient and their loved ones
with respect, dignity, and an individualized
care plan that meets their specific needs in
symptom management, advanced care
planning, preparation for end-of-life, loss,
grief, and bereavement.
The Freeman Centre for the

This workshop focuses on the health care
team’s role in influencing patient outcomes
through the assessment and management of
pain in adult oncology patients. Barriers that
affect assessment and management will be
discussed.

Introduction to Cancer Pain Management
Health care professionals caring for adult
cancer patients with pain issues.
Current recommended pharmacologic
approaches for managing pain will be
presented. Participants will become familiar
with the equianalgesic conversions of
opioids.
This workshop uses a combination of
didactic and interactive case-based
experiences to enhance learning.
