From the Registrar The last day to add a class is Tuesday, October 21; the last day to drop a class is Tuesday, November 18. For a Saturday class that meets 5 weeks/6 hours, the last day to add is Oct 11 (if first five weeks) or Nov 15 (if second five weeks); last day to drop is Oct 25 (if first five weeks) or Dec 6 (if second five weeks). From weeks 3 - 6 (Oct 22 – Nov 18) classes may also be dropped on the web through the FIDM Portal from 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. daily. A FIDM Student Photo ID is required to receive books and supplies. New first year, first quarter, students who have not yet received their FIDM Student Photo ID must have an official photo ID, such as a driver’s license, previous school photo ID, state-issued photo ID, passport or passport copy. What you need to know about FIDM: Elevators: Please do not try to stop the elevator doors from closing with your arms, legs, or other body parts. This is dangerous and could cause physical harm. Be courteous to your fellow riders by holding the doors with the door button on the elevator control panel. Student ID: You must carry your FIDM Student ID at all times while you are on campus. If you do not have a Student ID, stop by the Security Desk and get a temporary pass. If you lost your Student ID you may purchase a replacement ID for $10.00 in the Student Activities Office, Rm. 425. Smoking: Smoking is NOT allowed in the classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, or balconies of the FIDM campus. Smoking is allowed on the 1st floor, near the park, and by the street entrances. Earthquake: If an earthquake occurs while on campus, quickly move away from windows, shelves, and cabinets. DUCK, COVER, and HOLD! Keep calm, resisting the impulse to run out of the building. You are much safer inside. Stay on the floor until a trained FIDM Quake Response Team Personnel arrives. Fire Safety: If you hear a fire alarm on your floor, you must evacuate immediately! Proceed to the closest exit stairwell and continue down to the street level. Do not bring tote bags/personal belongings with you when exiting the building. Security Escort Service: FIDM Security provides an escort service for students who take public transportation late at night. At 9:00 p.m., 9:30 p.m., and 10:00 p.m., a security guard will walk a student to the Metro Station on 7th & Hope St. To use this service, meet at the rotunda (1st floor) near the Security Desk. Inquire at the desk for assistance. Guest Policy: You may not have guests on campus at any time. The only people allowed on the FIDM Campus are staff, faculty, and students. Please note that your guest may be asked to leave if you fail to meet security’s rules. Cell Phones: Cell phone use is not permitted in any FIDM classroom. Please be courteous to your fellow students and staff by being aware of your surroundings while using your phone.
