So much ministry…so little time… It’s kind of the way most of us feel. We know we should be involved in projects and mission opportunities that are out there, but we find ourselves SO busy with so many different things, that we just don’t have time. The same could be said about ministry IN this church. There are classes to teach, CARING to be done, committees to be involved in, events to plan, people to reach…it could go on and on. So what do we do? Let others do it? Wait until the “perfect” mission opportunity comes along? Or, do as my youth always use to do when I was serving: ask, “who else is doing it?” then join in if the project is done by those we’re friends with… Well, two things we do know – mission needs won’t wait on us. They’re going to be there whether we join in or not; whether we’re too busy or not. Mission opportunities are EVERY day opportunities. A second thing? It comes to us from Jesus’ command – a call to “Go…” -‐ JUST SOME OF THE THINGS THAT ARE COMING UP -‐ *This Sunday, our ladies will be gathering to participate in the Women’s Ministry luncheon following the morning worship service. Their ministry focus will be “Place of Grace”, a sub-‐ministry of Butterfly Ministries. What a worthy mission opportunity. *The new LIFE GROUPS begin October 5 and October 8. It’s a great line-‐up! Deepen your walk by joining one of these classes. Each class is available for registration! *October brings with it two events I hope you’ll take part in: -‐ the Chili/stew fellowship on October 19 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the FMC -‐ the Fall Festival on Wednesday, October 29 at Sadie Buchanan’s farm. ALL these events are ministry focused. All are worthy to be a part of…participate in them, use them to invite, reach out and encourage others to be involved! So much ministry opportunity…and so little time? Well, I hope you’ll make time for these. It may make all the difference in a life…someone else’s or maybe yours! Missions

Music Fun (Age 3), Music Time (Age 4 & 5), Music Makers (Grades 1-‐3) & Young Musicians (Grades 4-‐6) -‐ Our Preschool & Children’s Choirs all meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-‐
7:00 p.m. Our goal is build a strong spiritual foundation in each child’s life by helping them learn more about who God is and by teaching them how to love God through the gift of music. Student Ensemble -‐ This group of students in Grades 7 -‐12 enjoys praising God in song. They meet each Sunday at 5:15 p.m. and would love to have more students join in as well. No auditions necessary. Just come! Sanctuary Choir -‐ This is our primary worship choir, comprised of college students and adults of all ages. The choir meets each Wednesday evening from 7:00-‐8:00 p.m. in the Choir Room. Don’t feel like you have to make a commitment to come check it out. Come visit a rehearsal and see if the choir ministry will be a good ministry fit for you. We have no doubt, though, you’ll be hooked in just one rehearsal! We have just begun working on music for the Christmas season, so now is a great time to come! Sanctuary Orchestra -‐ For High Schoolers and Adults. If you play an instrument, we would love for you to join with us in making music each Sunday morning for the honor and glory of our God. Orchestra rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-‐7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Talk with Doug if you’re interested in visiting so we can have music prepared for you. Also, the orchestra is just getting ready to begin working on Christmas music, so there couldn’t be a more perfect time to check us out! Sanctuary Handbells -‐ All the spots are currently filled in this group which meets on Monday evenings at 5:15 p.m. However, if you have ringing experience and would like to be put on the sub list, please let Doug know. Congregation -‐ This is the LARGEST choir at Calvary. If you’re in a pew on Sunday mornings, then YOU are in this choir! Nobody gets out of this one! The Lord instructs us too many times in scripture to “sing a new song,” “sing to the Lord,” “make music to the Lord,” “burst into jubilant song,” etc. to not have equipped us to do so. If you don’t feel you’re a great singer, that’s perfectly okay. Make a joyful noise to the Lord. He’s far more interested in what’s in your heart than the sound of of your voice, so sing out heartily unto Him as we join together each week to lift high the name of Jesus! Looking Ahead…

Mike Marecle If you need peace in your life...you can find it through forgiveness. Thankfully, we don’t have to continue in the fear and worry that can disrupt our lives. God has the solution, and this book guides you through the process of understanding how to forgive. I wrote this book to share with you how the Lord gave me peace and purpose in my life through the practice of forgiveness. I hope and pray you will be blessed as I share a portion of my faith journey and God’s Word. This book is now available at amazon.com, in e-‐book, kindle or paperback form. We have placed our first order and will have paperback copies available through our office soon. ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS BOOK GO TO THE FURTHERANCE OF THE WORK OF HOPE FAMILY MINISTRIES. We are praying God will use this book to bring glory to Himself as He uses the truth of His Word in the power of His Holy Spirit! Blessings! His, Bro. Mike CONGRATULATIONS TO Dylan and Hannah Whitt on the arrival of their son Landon Thomas Whitt born September 18, 2014 weighing 3 pounds 6 ounces. Grandmother is Carolyn Gray. The Sewing Ministry – Morning Group is working on clothes for the children in an orphanage in Africa. It is the same orphanage in which Hannah and Matthew Kimbrough volunteered this past summer. It is not necessary to be able to sew; we n eed people to cut out fabric and thread elastic through the clothes. Come and enjoy the fellowship! New time -‐ 9:00 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. The Sewing Ministry – Night Group is currently making pillowcase dresses to send to Africa. We made some last year, and Bea Smith was able to deliver them when she went on a mission trip earlier this year. Since that time, she has b een in contact with the mission and they have requested 25 more dresses. We are working on those and hope to h ave them by Christmas. The dresses are really cute and easy to make. If you sew, come join us the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM. We would like to have your help and fellowship! Sewing Groups

They may be sick, homebound, or may just need to be covered in God’s word. The quilts have a Bible verse in each block that remind them of God's love. We hope they will get strength reading them. We welcome suggestions of people who might benefit from a q uilt. The quilts are simple and we are teaching anyone who is interested in the project. You do not have to know how to sew; there are other ways you can help. Sewing machines are available or you can bring your own.
