Namak Paani (Salt Water) Bags the best campus Film Award
On a lazy day of feb came in the announcement of a workshop film to be conducted for M.A CTV students under the guidance of Mr.Kamal, ac-
knowledged director of the film I.D. We have been waiting for some serious film making practical’s for a long time good film. It was them that Mr. Kamal came in with his vibrant and ener-
getic personality waking all of us up for a beauti-
ful journey towards Namak Panni.
Just as our production started to with a dif-
ferent story line an incident of Sr. Amala coming late to class happened and her reason for the some led us to Sadham and his life. Sr. Amala men-
tioned about the centre of India to God’s own country with a something inside us to bring up a new story, we decided to put Sadham’s life on screen and who else could play his life better than him. Our story cast, location everything came together in harmony. We died up our shoes ready to take off, the shooting schedule was set, what else would go wrong, it seemed like a cake walk, little did we know the cake would have thrones. Won best campus film award 2014
IDSFFK Chalachitra Academy Kerala. Limited budget, amateur crew lot of kinds to manage to the orphanage, limited time and we were doing a sync sound. Boomm, the shoot began. All we can remember is there days of winning shouting managing naughty little sound, people, shooting “silence” ‘field clear’ ‘start’ ‘production’ ‘roll sound’ again ‘si-
lence’ ‘Roll cam’ and ‘Action’ ...!!! That was the first time we knew what a hard core serious filming meant. Under the strict yet soft shadows of Mr. Kamal we learned to work in term, we learned soft
how important it was to do each and everything on time and how every single person work and effort played an important role in bring up a film. On the last day of shoot was when we faced a crisis, as our mother nature threw a huge wave and took the crew under her embrance of Alapuhza beach. The camera that we rented out was drenched in salt water, the moment of panic and tension spread around the crew but again with the support and tension
strength of Mr. Kamal and Sajan Sir we shoot and decided to com-
plete the shoot using a DSLR available on spot. After the bone working days of shoot came the post production. Read More Page: 3

Worldcup winds in SJCC too
Lucky to have an opportunity to listen to the Prof: Samar Nakathe (former Dean of Television, FTII Pune). The words cast in the mould of his experience and expertise woke us from the slumber of laziness. It was like a tour through history of art. It kindled the fire of artistic cre-
ativity and intellectual curiosity in us...

A one day workshop was organised on makeup for film and television for the students of B.A. Multime-
dia Semester 5 as part of their aca-
demic curriculum. Mr. Sinilal, a professional makeup artist, was the recourse person. He is presently working as a makeup artist for televi-
sion reality shows. There were real time makeup demon-

Three sleepless nights in an editing room of college and the editing challenges of first timers. After overcoming all that what we had in our hand was Namak Paani. I remember how we had in our hand a screening scheduled and our find out was yet to come yet to come. People waiting in the screening hall and we praying back at the editing table looking at the percentage and time left in exporting our film. It all paid off when we saw it on the big screen, the claps of people tell as a medicine to our tired bodies. A week long journey full of excitement, fun and hard work was what led as to Namak Paani, Sincere thanks and gratitude to the man who back up us to visualize Mr. Kamal and to the man who helped us cap-
Paani,
ture our visuals Mr.Sajan and our college for giving us such a wonderful opportunity. -Sarika. B. Pillai. MA CTV (S3)

It was awesome to be inside the college premises (including the small “get to know” moments with the seniors). The teach-
ing done by each teacher was understandable. Class atmosphere, the college atmosphere;; every thing had a standard and the college reputation written all over it. Ben Babu
I suggest our college wants a good foot ball ground. The ground that is already here is small and not good for playing foot-
ball. It is good that the bus stop is in front of the college. Akshay. S “Otta Vaakil parayaanengee SJCC kidu anu”.

FM Radio is the first attraction of
St.Joseph College of communication. First time I saw a radio station. I like
the wi-fi facility. the wi-fi facilit
Amal Krishnan. Inside the college we have a good ambience like paintings and articles done by the seniors of the college. Even they have amazing wall paintings and they even built a boat in the name of the college. The college is so beautiful with these kinds of things. They even built a chapel inside the college for the prayers and all. But we don’t have indoor and outdoor games for the recreation. Arun T
Now, About college, College has really a good campus, good teachers and good management;; really amazing... No
