BOW is inclusive of all women of the church. If you are a woman in this church,
you are a member of BOW. This ministry does not replace or render needless any
existing women’s ministry group already in place such as Presbyterian Women, Day
Gals, Night Gals, etc. Instead, this ministry supports, encourages and networks the
ministries already in place for women in our church and oversees and plans events
such as the Women’s Retreat, Ladies’ Tea and the BOW Monthly Outings. BOW also
serves to coordinate and expand the Women’s Ministry at Woodland and seeks to
include all women of the congregation.
This ministry seeks to connect and engage the women of Woodland
Presbyterian Church to grow in faith, do life together in Christian community,
learn to live on mission, equip them to be disciples and disciple-makers, and live out
and share the gospel in our homes, church, community and world.
BOW is led by a leadership council made up of a cross-section of the women of
the church currently or formerly serving in leadership positions in a variety of
ministries. The goal is to have at least one woman from each of the ministries of the
church to be included as a member of the Leadership Council, e.g. Elder, Deacon,
Staff, PW, Day Gals, Night Gals, the Sunday School classes, etc. The BOW leadership
council seeks to encourage women to serve where they have a heart for ministry so
that each woman’s service to the church is born out of her passion to serve.
If you are interested in serving on the leadership council or want to discuss
any ideas you might have for women’s ministry at Woodland, please see Wendy
Dabbous. You can email her at [email protected] or call her at 901-351-1378.
She would love to hear from you!
