I would like to share some of my favorites with you: 8 • Every journey begins with a single step • Know your limitations and then defy them • If you wait for perfect conditions you’ll never get anything done • It’s the START that stops most people • Yesterday you said tomorrow • Nothing tastes as good as thin feels • Strive for progress not perfection • Success does not come to you, you go to it I hope you can find your mantra with one of these sayings and live your life to the limit. september Fitness Calendar Mondays Water Aerobics 9 am Spinning 9:30 am Weight Class Noon TUESDAYS Circuit 9:00 am WEDNESDAYS Weight Class 8 am Water Aerobics 9 am Yoga Stretch Noon THURSDAYS Spinning 9:00 am FRIDAYS Mind/Body Cond. 9 am Yoga Stretch Noon SATURDAYS Water Aerobics 9 am Thiam Life Solutions Swimming News contact AQUA CHAMPS For swimming info (954) 561-4844 www.aquachamps.com PRIVATE GROUP SESSION: Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Hand & Foot Massage can be arranged. The property, food and staff provided a five star experience. Our trip to Key West was also a great success. Again 8 boats made the trip which included overnight stays at Ocean Reef, Marathon and finally Key West. Including 3 “drive downs”, nearly 30 people attended this cruise. Both of these trips included of course boating, tennis, golf, swimming, lots of food and drinks and great camaraderie. I would like to thank everyone who helped plan these trips and of course a big thank you goes to all that attended. We have two more cruises before Change of Watch which is on November 2nd. They include a cruise to Fort Lauderdale Yacht Club in September and another trip to Ocean Reef in October. Please join us if you can and we’ll continue to “Rock the Boat” Jim Reichard, Commodore Sadly, I am reminded of safety exercises that many of us rarely practice or even give a second thought about… Man Overboard training. It is not a common occurrence and we rarely hear about it, but trust me it happens more than you would like to think about. Here are a few questions to all the boat operators out there: Does someone else on your boat know how to start the engines and drive the boat? Does someone onboard know how to quickly raise the anchor? Do you announce to your passengers every time you take people out where life jackets are kept? If you answer NO to any of these questions perhaps it’s time to go online, brush up and put a plan together, it could save your life or someone you love. Professional Captains are required to have a plan in place and show in their log books that they regularly simulate Man Overboard exercises. You can make it interesting and fun for your family and friends by scheduling a little training. Feel free to contact me at [email protected] and I will help you put together a plan.
