About The Summit
Data is the most competitive tool that your organization
has in order to maintain relevance and growth in today’s
complex environment.
The ground-breaking Chief Data Officer Summit covers the
latest innovations you need to advance your organization’s
data strategy and management. In addition to the wealth
of insight into data development, data governance and
innovation, the summit will dissect the role of the Chief
Data Officer like never before.
Excellence in data management is key to both entry and
sustainability in the market. Investing in a Chief Data
Officer could be transformational for your company. With
this in mind, the world’s leading Chief Data Officers will be
in attendance to discuss the organizational structures
within which they exist, and the benefits their companies
have seen from adding a Data Officer to the C-suite.
Organizations looking to compete with data simply cannot
afford to miss the Chief Data Officer Summit.

Rick Kochhar
Chief Data Officer
TD Bank
Rick Kochhar, Senior Vice President and Chief Data Officer
of TD Bank Group and his team are accountable for
delivering a unified approach for the bank’s Business
Segments and Corporate Functions to leverage data as an
enterprise asset; enable legendary customer, client, and
employee experiences; and ensure continuation of a robust
record of regulatory compliance.
Fostering an Enterprise Data Mindset
We're hearing more about 'Big Data' and the growing
need for organizations to use it to drive business value.
But is it really about using 'Big' Data or understanding
and maximizing the value of 'Right' Data?
In his presentation titled Fostering an Enterprise Data
Mindset, Rick Kochhar, SVP and CDO of TD Bank Group
shares his perspective on why incorporating Right Data
into everything we do is no longer a choice but rather, a
matter of competitive survival. Rick joined TD in 2013. His career in strategic data activities
spans over 25 years in financial services and other
industries across North America including executive
positions with Wachovia and Capital One, and other
organizations such as Eli Lilly & Company, Hughes
Information Technology Systems (NASA) and Lawrence
Livermore National Laboratory (Department of Energy).
Rick is a graduate of the University of Texas with BS, MS
and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering.
Seth Dobrin
Director, Data
Monsanto
As the leader of the Pipeline Data Team at Monsanto
Company, Seth is responsible for operational, tactical and
strategic aspects of data across the company. This
platform is leveraged to drive product pipeline resulting in
seeds, traits, biologics and chemistries that enhance and
protect yield of row crops as well as vegetable crops. The
team has built this platform by applying state of the art
and cutting edge data technologies to one of the World’s
richest agricultural data sets. Prior to joining Monsanto in
2006, Seth earned his PhD in Human Molecular Genetics
from Arizona State University and has held senior
leadership positions at several startup companies as well
as an academic career identifying causative genes and
pathways related to Neuropsychiatric genetics by
combining industrial scale genomics with traditional
analytics and machine learning algorithms.
The Smart Data Evolution: The Reason it’s
Not Big Data that Matters
As a buzz word big data is a big deal. But in reality the
true value of data is not realized until it is contextual,
searchable and in real-time or near real-time. The
combination of real-time data, rich metadata and
semantics with relational and non-relational data
sources creates the Smart Data opportunity. We will
explore the Smart Data Evolution as it applies to the
unique challenges of agricultural product development.

Data Isn’t Just Datasets: The Role of Your
Documents, Content and Community in
Your Open Data Strategy
Open data programs provide governments with a rare
win-win-win of providing newfound transparency,
creating opportunities for improving government
efficiency & catalyzing new job creation by entrepreneurs. However, too often these new initiatives are undertaken
independent of, and at worst isolated from, long-standing
government open information sharing programs that
have delivered data to the public for years-- under the
moniker of content, community, and documents.
In our view, open data programs should take a more
unified approach to open *information* management. This
talk explores the importance of and practical approaches
to unifying new open data tools, standards & techniques
with the open information management processes many
governments already have in place.
