NON-REGULAR CLASSES (ADDITIONAL) INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTries
NOTE: As the judges’ decision in the Non-Regular Classes Involving Multiple Dog Entries is based on the
merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in
this class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class.
Chapter 11, Section 8 of the Dog Show Rules provides that a “castrated male may be entered as a Stud
Dog in the Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class.”
Stud Dog Class – For Stud Dogs and two (2) of their get. Stud Dogs may be entered in one of the
Regular Classes, Performance Classes, or Best of Breed Competition. Stud Dogs must be entered
in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their get. Owner of Stud Dog need not
necessarily be owner of get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the
placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that
would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for its breed. Get must be entered individually in one of the Regular Classes, Performance
Classes or Best of Breed Competition.
Brood Bitch Class – Same as Stud Dog, except substitute “Brood Bitch” for “Stud Dog” and
“Produce” for “Get”.
Brace Class – The Brace Class shall be for two dogs of at least one identical owner or co-owner
regardless of sex. The two dogs comprising the Brace shall be considered a unit and they must be
named at time of entry. If a dog, which is to be part of a brace is not entered in a regular , nonregular class or Best of Breed Competition, the dog must be entered for “Brace Class Only.” In
making entries for Brace Class Only, full particulars must be given for each dog on individual
regular entry forms. An entry form for a dog entered in another class and entered as a part of a
brace, MUST be marked accordingly in the space provided for ADDITIONAL CLASSES – “Brace
Class.” If more than one Brace is entered by the identical owner, the dogs comprising EACH brace
must be designated, “Brace No. 1”, “Brace No. 2”, etc. Please submit Brace entries together.
TEAM – Same as for Brace Class, except it will be for four dogs of the same breed, with at least
one identical owner or co-owner.

We will start off at 5:00 p.m. with a presentation by John R. Becker, Esq. on Estate
Planning for Responsible Dog Owners: How to Provide Ongoing Care for Your Pets.
The Trust feels that this is an important topic we all need to consider, so it will be open
to everyone at no cost. However, any donations to the Trust would be greatly appreciated. Later that evening will be a Trust fundraiser. We will have hors d’oeuvres and a
cash bar and later Donna Beckman will present:
A PICTURE IS WORTH…Or, what pictures can teach us about the Standard, And how
to use only GOOD pictures in advertising.
Please join us and support your SHCA Trust. Our mission is to collect and distribute
funds to aid the Siberian Husky breed in the areas of health, rescue, and education.
We are dedicated to improving the lives of all Siberians. And remember, the SHCA
Trust is a 501(c)(3), so your donations to the Trust may be tax deductible. Tickets for
the Trust Fundraiser are $25 pre-registration and $35 at the door. For more information, contact Mary Uhlir, [email protected] .Reservations are due by September
10th. Please mail payment and reservations to Ricki Silveria, SHCA Trust Treasurer,

NATIONAL SPECIALTY ORIENTATION
We invite first time National Specialty attendees to get together for a quick meet and
greet and QA session with Anne Palmer and Tim Terella. The plan is to gather ring side
after sweepstakes judging and to answer any questions new exhibitors may have.
BEYOND THE BASICS, HANDLING AND TRAINING TECHNIQUES AND PSYCHOLOGY FOR
SUCCESS IN THE RING AND LIFE, you have already learned to dress for success, know
all the gaiting patterns and what leashes and collars to put on your dog. What else is
there to know? How about the way a dog thinks and ways to help them become comfortable with certain situations, real or imagined, why dogs get turned off or soured to
working. This Seminar will be a combination of lecture and hands-on – bring your
questions, problem dogs and together let us brainstorm and physically demonstrate
on how to have a more successful union between man and dog, taking a look at what
happens more from the dog point of view. Ideas and solutions are appropriate for
obedience, conformation and everyday life. Presenter will be Trish Kanzler, who has
more than 50 years competing in showing and on the trail work, and anyone else who
would like to share life experiences and solutions.
For more information please contact Ann Palmer at 734-426-5917 or
[email protected]. Please RSVP on the form below and send to 7559 Zeeb
Rd., Dexter, MI 48130.

The Siberian Husky Club of America, Inc
SHCA, INC., CHECK POLICY
All checks or money orders must be payable to “SHCA” in US Funds and drawn on US banks.
Returned checks or money orders do not constitute payment for goods and/or services. All
returned checks will be charged a $25.00 returned check fee. Repeated returned checks and/or
failure to repay debts to SHCA, Inc. will result in being placed on “cash only” basis with the club.
Any payment received by SHCA for any purpose by an individual, group, or business with an outstanding debt to the club will first be applied to that debt. What this means, for example, is if
your check for $15.00 novelty sales is returned, you will be assessed an additional $25.00 return
check fee; and your resulting debt will be $40.00. If you fail to pay this debt, but attempt to enter
the Specialty, and send a check for $60.00 for two entries, $40.00 from that entry check will first
be used to pay off your debt, leaving $20.00 for the entries. In order for both of your entries to be
accepted and processed, you will need to submit an additional $40.00.
Attention Fanciers Residing Outside of the US
Please notice our change in policy concerning foreign checks. Checks NOT payable in US
dollars and/or NOT drawn on US Banks will not be accepted. Also, note that when ordering
items to be sent outside of the US, shipping charges will be DOUBLED.

AKC Code of Sportsmanship
PREFACE: The sport of purebred dog competitive events dates prior to 1884, the year of
AKC’s birth. Shared values of those involved in the sport include principles of sportsmanship.
They are practiced in all sectors of our sport: conformation, performance and companion. Many
believe that these principles of sportsmanship are the prime reason why our sport has thrived for
over one hundred years. With the belief that it is useful to periodically articulate the fundamentals
of our sport, this code is presented.

Sportsmen respect the history, traditions and integrity of the sport of purebred dogs.

Sportsmen commit themselves to values of fair play, honesty, courtesy, and vigorous
competetion, as well as winning and losing with grace.

Sportsmen refuse to compromise their commitment and obligation to the sport of purebred

The sportsman judge judges only on the merits of the dogs and considers no other factors.

appear that the judge’s placements could be based on something other than the merits
of the dogs.

The sportsman exhibitor refuses to compromise the impartiality of a judge.

The sportsman respects the AKC bylaws, rules, regulations and policies governing the sport
of purebred dogs.

Sportsmen find that vigorous competition and civility are not inconsistent and are able to

Sportsmen welcome, encourage and support newcomers to the sport.

Sportsmen will deal fairly with all those who trade with them.
