Did they move here 20 years ago, or just

much is going on in Josephine County.
Four hours a week is the commitment

Chem-Dry is actually the world’s largest carpet

Minimum Wage in Oregon:
Which Oregonians are Impacted by Increases in the Minimum

Special thanks to these individuals who are

1.7 million people, about 5.5% of workers
make minimum wage and of those, more
than half are tipped employees - meaning
that they often make far more than minimum wage.
Second, people often assume that many
minimum wage workers are full-time employees. That’s wrong. In Oregon, only 1.4%
of full-time hourly workers make minimum wage. And across the U.S., only 2% of
full-time hourly workers make minimum
wage, while 10% of part-time hourly workers make the minimum wage.
Just last January, Oregon’s minimum
wage rose to $9.10 an hour, and that
might just be the beginning. So what’s
that mean to you? After all, you don’t
work for minimum wage.

Massage Therapy
After being in the dental field as a
Dental Assistant for 28 years, I decided it was time to do something
new. In 2007 I went back to school at
RCC to become a Massage Therapist.
It was the best decision I could have
made for a career. Now, 6 years later,
I am able to work at a job I love and
help people feel better in the process.
A year after getting licensed and set
up for business in The Health Oasis
building downtown at H and 5th,
someone suggested I join the Chamber of Commerce so I could meet
fellow business owners and network.
I joined in 2009 and was amazed at
the support and friendship I found
at the Greeters meetings. I still love
going to the meetings on Wednesday
mornings and sharing ideas about
business, referrals and cultivating
great relationships in the process.
Through it all my husband, Brad and
my two boys were supportive and
of course always willing to have me
“practice” massage on them. Brad
built me a wonderful website which
gives me a great on-line presence for
today’s ever changing market.

There are two sources for population estimates in Oregon:

Heartland Dance was founded in 1977 with the mission to offer
community members of all ages and abilities the opportunity to experience the joy and benefits of dance in an atmosphere of kindness
and discipline. Our instructors emphasize proper dance training and
technique in a nurturing environment. We have served over 3,000
students over the years, and our current enrollment has grown to
over 80. We have outgrown the space we have used for 20 years, and
are forced to turn students away every year because we just can’t fit
any more in!

and Southern Oregon, began service in September 2014.
With a long standing history in transport of critical adult and pediatric patients, Oregon Lifeguard brings rapid response and highly
trained teams to help the existing providers. CEO Kai McSwain, who
raised his family in Southern Oregon, is proud to participate in the
overall EMS system by bringing in air service and jobs to the Grants
Pass area. With two modern aircraft to start, a Pilatus airplane and a
Bell 407 Helicopter, and state of art equipment, we are able to provide
the highest level of care available in transport. Oregon Lifeguard is
like an “ICU in the sky”.
