MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF DENMARK Invest in Denmark Innovation Centre Denmark, München WIND-ENERGY RESEARCH, AUTOMATION, AND ROBOT TECHNOLOGY STATUS AND PERSPECTIVES ON GERMAN-DANISH COOPERATION Practical Information Why? To network and inform about the newest technology developments. Invest in Denmark and Innovation Centre Denmark, München are inviting you to participate in the joint German-Danish wind energy and automation research day at the Danish Embassy in Berlin. To create synergy through cross border R&D corporations and combine German and Danish leading competences. When? 23rd of November 2012 10:00 - 18:00 Where? Danish Embassy, Berlin “Felleshuset” Rauchstraße 1, D-10787 Berlin Speakers: Max ABILDGAARD, DLR Frede BLAABJERG, AAU Alois BUCHSTAB, KUKA Bent CHRISTENSEN, DONG Felix KRUSE, DLR Peter Hauge MADSEN, DTU Our aim is through insights from German and Danish keynote speakers to facilitate networking, knowledge dissemination and new perspectives on current wind energy research including automation production solutions for wind turbines and rotor blades. Denmark and Germany are knowledge intensive countries hosting leading wind-energy actors from academia and industry. Increased cooperation across borders and between technology areas such as wind turbine R&D, automation and robot-technology development could be decisive key factors for a continued German-Danish success within a technology area characterized by rapidly changing conditions and massive global competition. He has worked many years at Risø (now DTU Wind Energy) and was previously research manager at Siemens Wind Power. He is coordinator of the European Energy Research Alliance’ Joint Programme on Wind Energy. Vice-chairman of the Steering Committee for ATF project: Cost-effective deep water foundations for large offshore wind turbines. Chairman, Danish Standard, Technical Committee S588, Wind Turbines. Publications Dipl.-Ing Max Abildgaard, DLR German Aerospace Center—Institut für Flugsystemtechnik Max Abildgaard studied Electrical Engineering at DTU with a specialization in control theory. Moved to Braunschweig in 2003 to study aerospace engineering. Started working at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in the field of system identification and control of helicopters. Has since 2011 been coordinating wind power activities at the Institute of Flight Systems, where he is managing the planning and engineering on the road towards a new wind turbine test facility. Dipl.-Ing Felix Kruse, DLR Zentrum für Leichtbauproduktionstechnologie (ZLP) Head of DLR’s Center for Lightweight-Production-Technology since 2011. Previous positions as scientific engineer at RWTH Aachen University, Institute of Aerospace and Lightweight Structures (Design and testing of stiffned CFRP-shell structures) and RWTH Aachen University, Institute für Textiltechnik (Modern preforming technologies and production technologies of non-crimped fabrics). Background in Aeronautical Engineering (Aerodynamics und structural mechanics) at Technical University of Braunschweig. Professor PhD Frede Blaabjerg, Aalborg University Through his career Frede Blaabjerg has in close cooperation with companies done research in the development and promotion of the effect-electronics technologies as important tools in producing and saving energy. Frede Blaabjerg has over the years published numerous scientific articles and has given several lectures at international level. He is one of the most cited researchers within his field and has distinguish himself by receiving a number of international and national awards, including the Grundfos Prize, Director Ib Henriksen’s Research Prize and the special award of honour of the IEEE Power Electronics Society. Publications Dipl.-Ing Alois Buchstab, Kuka GmbH Graduate of Engineering (UAS), since 1987 at KUKA Roboter GmbH in Augsburg and since 2000 Head of Industrial Business Development. Working with identification of relevant and branch specific market trends using industrial robots and with generation of new market areas. As a robotics pioneer, the KUKA Robot Group is one of the leading suppliers of industrial robotics. The fields of application for a KUKA robot are as diverse as their production. Whether in the warehouse, in manufacturing or in dispatch, for loading and unloading, for handling or for direct processing of the work piece. Senior Vice President Bent Christensen, DONG Energy Windpower Bent Christensen is a highly experienced executive with in-depth knowledge of the energy sector where he has been working for more than 25 years.
