Katie Wills - Director of Music Ministry Matt Boyle - Director of Youth Ministry Website: www.ihmparish.net MISSION STATEMENT “We reach out to all through prayer and service, as we live our Catholic faith in Christ with Mary” The Twenty-eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time A Note from Fr. Mike Very often the coming of the messiah is imagined in a wedding banquet, as in today’s 1st reading and Gospel. It is much anticipated and there is a tremendous amount of effort that goes into the planning and the celebrating. Each time we participate in the Eucharist we participate in this messianic banquet. Each time we participate in the Eucharist we have a taste of the heavenly kingdom. We are called not only to celebrate the Eucharist and the coming of the messiah, we are also called to prepare ourselves and respond to the invitation each and every day by living out our faith and allowing The grace that comes from God to pour out of us into the world, thus building up the Kingdom of God in our midst. Peace, Fr. Mike A Note from Fr. Mike’s Sister, Fran: Dear Parishioners of Immaculate Heart of Mary, Thank you all for sharing in the celebration of our birthday and Michael’s investiture last weekend. The warmth and happiness we experienced were wonderful. We are grateful for your fellowship and kindness. We know that all of our family felt privileged to be a part of the community of IHM. Scriptural Reflection 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time October 12, 2014 “And my God will supply every need of yours…” Philippians 4:19 God really does provide for those who are grateful and generous. This is very difficult for people who don’t live a stewardship lifestyle to believe. People are skeptical and say it’s just coincidence. If you are skeptical, try living a stewardship lifestyle for just one month—be generous with your gifts of time, talent and treasure and see how God provides for your needs. 0576 The Twenty-eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time October 12, 2014 3 Mass Intentions Sunday, October 12th 7:45 AM Geri Smith+ By John Hoagland 9:00 AM Pasquale Di Monte+ By Ralph & Fiorina Di Monte 10:30 AM All Souls+ By Rakhee Sohan 12:00 PM Joseph Kubasky+ By Jerry & Barbara Hughes Monday, October 13th 7:00 AM Gloria Heras Johnson+ 8:30 AM Carlos Carvalho+ By Patricia Markey By Joseph & Barbara Faccone Tuesday, October 14th 7:00 AM Helen Patrick+ 8:30 AM Justin Mariano+ By Bill & Donna Donaleski By Mary Beth Winsor Wednesday, October 15th 7:00 AM Olga Hartman+ By Rich & Heba Fortunato 8:30 AM Charles & Barbara Takacs+ By Barbara Apgar Thursday, October 16th 7:00 AM Fiore Minniti+ 8:30 AM James R. On a weekly basis, the students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through five visit the library for stories and lessons and to borrow a book. Mrs. Luongo teaches her youngest students how to behave in a quiet setting, the various types of books and how to use a dictionary. Spelling and vocabulary lessons are reinforced for students in grades three through five. This year, Mrs. Luongo has started a Chess Club for the students in seventh and eight grades. Thirty-six students have joined and will compete against each other.
