Katie Wills - Director of Music Ministry Matt Boyle - Director of Youth Ministry Website: www.ihmparish.net MISSION STATEMENT “We reach out to all through prayer and service, as we live our Catholic faith in Christ with Mary” The Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time A Note from Fr. Mike St. Paul tells the Thessalonians that the Gospel did not come to them in word alone, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit. This means that living the Gospel is not simply listening to the readings and homily at Mass, or going to catechism class, but also includes recognizing the presence of Christ in our lives, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide and animate us, letting the grace and power of God flow through us. In other words, we must put what we learn into action each and every day, living our faith, being authentic about what we say we believe. In doing this we are able to give to Caesar what is his, and to God what is his, our very selves. Peace, Fr. Mike Have you noticed something new? We recently installed a donation bin in the IHM parking lot. All of the clothing, shoes and small household items that you generously donate will be sold and the proceeds will be used to support many programs for the needy. Tax receipts are available. Scriptural Reflection 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time October 26 2014 “Whoever sacrifices to any god, save to the Lord only, shall be utterly destroyed.” EXODUS 22:20 Do you put other “gods” before God? Is your love of money, power, status or some personal possession greater than your love for God? If so, you may want to pay attention to the scripture reading because you are not going to like the outcome. The good news — it’s not too late to put God first in your life. 0576 The Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time October 19, 2014 3 Mass Intentions Sunday, October 19th 7:45 AM Jeremiah T.
