September was a busy month and this year is just flying by. All of a sudden, it is parade season! We have Dinuba, Corcoran, Paso Robles, Reedley and Lemoore coming up. Clubs and Units, please get your participation info into Brian Hickle as soon as possible. He can be reached at (559) 476-6232. We just returned from a day at AT&T Park, watching the Giants and the Dodgers in a fall classic. I’ll try to be kind, but “Our” Dodgers just blew away the Giants that night, so at least Adrienne was happy! She took the kidding pretty well, and all of that was in fun … we hope. We had a group of 40+ with us on the bus and everyone had a really wonderful time. Thanks to all who participated and perhaps we should do it again next year! Before the ball game, we also had a great time in Cambria at the annual Pinedorado. We were well represented in the parade, including a couple of “new” clowns in the mix. David and Sloan looked great in their clown attire and I know they really enjoyed participating. I do have some unfortunate news as well, and not in keeping with my usual upbeat style in the monthly message. Currently, the Temple has 29 Nobles that are projected to be suspended for lack of dues payment. At this time, the Temple has a total of $8,100 in dues that is delinquent. We are already challenged with our finances and this deficit makes it increasingly harder to manage the affairs of the Temple. If you are delinquent in paying your dues, won’t you please get that up to date right away? 2015 dues billings will be mailed in October, so please look for that and get your dues paid as soon as possible. Many thanks. Last call for our Day at the Races on the 10th of October, at the Big Fresno Fair! Come and play the ponies with us….. call Denise Crossland for reservations. Also in October is David & Sloan Johnson’s Chief Rabban’s Night on October 24th. David and Sloan are working on a great calendar and theme for next year. Please give them your support by attending this special evening and see all that they have in store for 2015. Until next time … Yours in Faith, Travis Cantrell, Potentate REcORdER’S MESSAGE FOR October James Stahl PP RECORDER – Tehran Temple Good Day from the Recorder’s office. Last month I had published a Black Camel list. There was an error on the list. The list should have listed Leopold Bopp and not his wife Grace. Grace is living in Fresno. Thank you for the correction. That is why I am checking the files to see if they are complete. This coming Christmas season, Tehran Shrine is having a Transportation fund raiser. We will be taking the BIG BAND WAGON down Christmas Tree Lane. The Trailer can hold 40 people at a time. We will pick people up at Fig Garden Village, going down Christmas Tree Lane and return to Fig Garden Village. The round trip will take about hour to hour and half. We will be asking for a donation of $ 250.00 per trip. Because this is for the Tehran Transportation Fund, it is a 501(c)3 organization, and is tax deductible. To reserve a date in December 2014, call the Recorder’s Office (559-251-1991) and check and see if the date you would like is available. This is a GREAT way to enjoy the Holiday with family or your office. If you need help with anything, please call.
