JERSEY SHORE UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER CELEBRATES NEXT STEP CAMPAIGN
FOR K. HOVNANIAN CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
Kristie Kane and Mar ybeth Walz from Hope for Children
Foundation were happy to support the event.
T
he Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune
recently celebrated the generosity of donors who have
given to the K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital
through The Next Step – a fundraising campaign supporting
an expansion at the children’s hospital. The JSUMC is a member of Meridian Health. The Hovnanian Family have been
major supporters. Family members (from left to right) Sossie
Najarian, Mazin Kalian, Lucy Kalian, Emily Hovnanian,
Esto Barry, Marian Barry, Kevin Barry and James
Barry are pictured together at the recent event.
The Mulvaney Family (from above left) including Judy, John,
Kelly, Mary Catherine and Eugene Mulvaney. Born at just
29 weeks gestation and weighing in at 1 pound 12 ½ ounces,
Mary Catherine was called “Miracle Mary” by the nurses in the
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Four years later, Mary
Catherine’s parents, Kelly and John, are the proud parents of
two incredible children (a new baby boy born this year) and
Mary Catherine is a healthy, happy child who loves to dance
and play. The care she received at K. Hovnanian Children’s
Hospital was the reason that her grandparents, Eugene and
Judy Mulvaney, made a gift to The Next Step campaign for the
expansion of a second acute care in-patient floor.

2014 RUMSON BOAT RACE COACH’S RECEPTION WAS HELD AT RUMSON COUNTRY CLUB RIVER HOUSE
T
he Rumson Boat Race was founded to
support the blossoming rowing culture in our communities, to carry on
an American tradition that dates back to 1854,
and to provide funding for the equipment
used by the rowing athletes at RFH. The
Rumson Boat Race is a not for profit 501(C) 3
organization. This was the organization’s 5th
Annual event and was presented by Ray
Catena Auto Group. Twenty local families
hosted 82 athletes and coaches overnight so
that the crews could be ready to race early
Saturday morning. Also, on the eve of the
boat race the coaches, friends, family and
supporters came together for a reception at

HOP BROOK FARM HOSTED CONCOURS D’ELEGANCE TO BENEFIT BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS
C
oncours d’Elegance was an outstanding show held in Holmdel at Hop Brook Farm featuring pristine vintage, rare automobiles and motorcycles from private collections, all of
which provided a small glimpse back in time for the hundreds of people who attended.
Event proceeds will support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth and Middlesex Counties,
an organization that provides one-on-one mentoring and a positive life direction for kids who
need guidance the most. A lovely fashion show accompanied the outstanding display of automobiles, as well as a delicious lunch and live musical entertainment. Barr y Weshnack (third

Kirk Thomson and Allen Dean (right) who sang to guests during lunch!
Jeff Cruz (second from left) is the chairman, founder and a
major sponsor of the Monmouth County Concours

This 1929 Duesenberg “J” owned by John Shibles (left) was considered to be the most valuable car in the show (valued at approximately $3 million with a $1 million restoration). This car
won awards at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, which is one of the most prestigious
car shows in the world. Shibles is pictured with Steve Babinsky, whose shop in Lebanon,
N.J., handled the restoration of the car.
TJ Bull (left), Mark Molyneaux and William Salcedo Jr.
