CURIAL, Gaston Philibert Marcel Jean Napoleon
May 19th, 1930 – October 5th, 2014
Gaston (Gus) Curial of St. Albert, Alberta passed away after a
long illness. He leaves to mourn his loss, Ada his dedicated wife
of almost 60 years. Lovingly remembered by his children MarieBlanche Mitchell, Michelle Curial-Hebert (André), Elyse Selig
(Peter), Jocelyne Kettner (Ken), his beloved son Marc, eight loving
grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, siblings Marcelle Joulin,
Liliane Coursaux, Bernard Curial (Laurie), Christiane Kempin
(Chuck), Anne Marie Brown (Ted), Claudette Watt (Jim), Arlette
Kohlman (Larry), Jacqueline Weiss (Lawrence), and numerous beloved nieces and
nephews.
Gaston joins loved ones who have gone before him: his dear parents Marcel and
Yvonne Curial, infant sister Yvonne, sister Solange Dewarrat, sister-in-law Gail
Curial; brothers-in-law René Dewarrat Sr., Guy Joulin, Augustin Coursaux; nephews
Rene Dewarrat Jr., Richard Kempin, and niece Nicole Coursaux.
Gaston was an adventurous soul who led an extraordinary life. He was a Jack-of-alltrades, but is most remembered as a caring school teacher for Edmonton Catholic
Schools. He and Ada were fortunate to retire in their fifties. As a philanthropist,
Gaston supported many causes close to his heart. It was because of the love and
concern he had for his son with Down Syndrome and his association with parents of
persons with disabilities that he and Ada were instrumental in co-founding LoSeCa
Foundation in St. Albert.
Mass of Christian Burial took place on Saturday, October 11, at 10:30 a.m., followed
by interment at St. Albert Parish Cemetery.
The Family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at the Citadel Care Centre for the
compassionate care given to Gaston over the past several years. In lieu of flowers,
please make donations to LoSeCa Foundation, 215 Carnegie Dr., St. Albert, AB

July 13, 1987 - September 30, 2014
It is with deep sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Hayley Jayne Richman on
September 30th, 2014.
Hayley lived her life with courage, intelligence, kindness and thoughtfulness, sprinkled
always with an enormous sense of humor and love of laughter. She was remarkably
gentle and soft yet had a tenacious and relentless capacity to unconditionally love
everyone she touched. Her life’s goal was simply “to love and help others.”
Just a week before her 21st birthday, Hayley entered into intensive inpatient treatment
for preadolescent onset anorexia nervosa. She bravely fought this disease over the
4 years that followed with courage, determination and pure perseverance. With the
expert guidance and relentless support of Dr. Lara Ostolosky she conquered this often
fatal disease.
