Architectural Design Competition for
Aquatic Centre, LUMS, Lahore
The Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners was commissioned by LUMS to organize and conduct a
single stage nationwide Architectural Design Competition open to all PCATP Registered Architects for the
Aquatic Centre at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Lahore.
Jury of Assessors
The competition was held in accordance with the PCATP gazetted Architectural Competition Regulations. The
jury for the competition comprised five members including three professional of the highest caliber and
integrity, and two representatives of LUMS. Following is the list of the Jury members:
a) Promoter’s Representatives:

b) Advisor:

c) Professional Representatives
1. Dr. Tauseef Ahmad.
2. Ar. Ghayyoor Obaid Syed.

d) Coordinator/ Secretary to Jury
Ar. Plnr. T. Sadia Fazli, Registrar, PCATP
PCATP received 23 applications from architects/ firms and 11 were shortlisted by the Jury to take part in the
design competition. Out of 11 contestants 06 architects submitted their designs having the deadline of
September 05, 2014. The Jury held its meeting on September 9th, 2014 at Sports Complex, LUMS to select the
winning design. After the day-long deliberation, discussion and a detailed analysis the Jury announced and
awarded the top two designs. The jury decided not to award the third prize as they were not satisfied with the
overall quality of design submissions.
1. First Prize to Ar. Abdul Qayyum Khan (Architects Bureau, Islamabad)
2. Second Prize to Ar. Iftikhar M. Azam (H3 Architects, Karachi)
