The return of the people from exile – a return made possible by King Cyrus – is seen as a sign of God’s love for his people, Israel, and of his lordship over all peoples. 2nd Reading: (1Thess 1:1-5). Here we see Paul’s concern for the Christians at Thessalonika. Gospel: (Mt 22:15-21). This is the story of an effort by the enemies of Jesus to trap him into saying something incriminating. Holy Family Padre Pio Prayer Group: monthly meeting, with two 1st class relics, will be held on Mon 13 Oct in the Holy Family Church, Ballymagroarty starting with Mass at 7.15pm. Everyone is welcome. As this is the last one planned for the year we would appeal to the community and the various community groups to lend a hand. We are appealing for workers who qualify to join the CE Scheme. Coffee Morning in aid of St Vincent de Paul and Social Services is to take place in the SVP Drop-inCentre on Fri 17 Oct; 10am – 2pm. The usual support would be greatly appreciated and any bakers who would like to donate home-baking can do so by leaving it into the Drop-in-Centre on morning of event. St Vincent de Paul: we have a selection of very reasonably priced Halloween Costumes. Also in stock is a selection of hand-knit cardigans for babies. Friends of Lifford Hospital: the Development Fund would like to thank most sincerely the community of Castlefin and Doneyloop for their support of the Ceili held in St Mary’s Hall, Convoy on 19 Sept.
