Our colour is 100% natural food dyed food grade corn starch. We suggest wearing bandanas, glasses or

Our colour throwers try to aim as low as possible. Make sure you keep moving through the station and do not
stop.

Water: Please bring your own water – or you can grab a cup of water along the route.
Cameras: Feel free to bring your own camera/smart phone to capture the memories of the day.
IMPORTANT: we suggest wrapping them in cling wrap or placing them in a plastic bag to protect them.
Photography: There will be photographers and film crews on site during the event. By participating in the event,
you gave your consent on registration for any images or footage to be used in event material including future
promotions.
RULES, SAFETY &
RECOMMENDATIONS
1. On LAP ONE, stay to the left, on LAP TWO stay to the right - we’ll be there to guide you as well.
2. Colour wheels – wheel chairs and prams are the only wheels permitted on course and it is recommended
you seed yourself towards the back of the start chute (please leave bikes and scooters etc at home)
3. If you are participating with small children, please watch and direct them through the event (we
recommend writing your name and number on a piece of paper and pinning this to their shirt).
4. Toilets – make sure you get this sorted before you head off as toilets are limited along the route.
5. Free free to run or walk and if you can only do once around the course – that’s ok
6. If you are concerned with any part of the experience please feel free to wear safety glasses, a bandana,
dust mask or similar. Should you have any difficulties whilst on course please notify a staff member or
volunteer.
7. No fur babies – please keep your animals at home even if you think they would love it.
8. Please follow the directions provided by event officials and volunteers.
9. Most of all, have fun and remain respectful and courteous to everyone around you and please put all your
rubbish in the bins provided.
FINISH FESTIVAL – COLOUR EXPLOSION
Our famous Colour Explosions happen at the end of the race (either once or twice) – hold on to your colour
packet until the Explosion for more fun! Additional colour can be purchased for $3 a packet.
Lost kids & lost property: Please go to the Registration or Information sites for any help you need.
FIRST
AID
There is a First Aid Station located within the Finish Festival area. If you get into trouble, please make a staff
member or volunteer aware so that they can call for assistance.
GETTING
CLEAN
PREPARATION
• When Oily Hair is a Good Thing! Oil will help the colour wash out
(particularly important for blondes) – before you leave home put in some leave-in conditioner, coconut oil,
morocco oil or something similar.
• Cover up – if you are not ok with having colour in your hair then we
recommend you wear a wig, scarf or a hat (especially if you have blonde hair).
• Cover your car seats – bring a rubbish bag, old towel or blanket for your trip home.
• Use sunscreen and lip balm to protect you from the sun and it will also help the colour
to slide off after the event.
• We suggest you leave expensive strollers, sunglasses, clothes and running shoes at home. The colour
usually washes out – but be prepared just in case.
AFTERWARDS
• Dust off as much of the dry powder as you can before hopping in your car.
• We recommend anti-dandruff shampoo to help remove any colour patches, and if they’re being stubborn
apparently some good old fashioned baking soda added to your shampoo to make a paste, is a great trick!
• Again – that fantastic trick of using baking soda works also on your body wash for stubborn spots.
• Clothing – dust off all excess dust and then wash items separately in cold water. Napisan will help!
• Head to www.colourdash.co.nz for more tips.
See you there and BE SURE to share all the fun with us on Facebook www.facebook.com/colourdashnz
