the local Guardian, starting on THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16th
Copies of the newspaper will be available in your nearest newsagent or supermarket and will
remain on sale for a period of seven days while stocks last.
Full details will be published in the newspaper on how to order photo prints, digital downloads and
a range of gifts ideal for Christmas presents.

Dahlicious Dress Up Day – which character were you?
To celebrate Dahlicious Day, Buxton transformed into a set from one of Roald Dahl’s stories. We
raised over £400 for Roald Dahl's Marvellous Charity, which helps to make the lives of seriously ill
children better. All the children came to school dressed as a Roald Dahl character. Which
characters can you see?
We like to say a big thank you to all the Parents and Carers who worked hard to create all the
children’s marvellPous costumes.

Local Heroes
Buxton School Year 11 students Khalid Mohammed and Tiago
Domingos came to the rescue of Homerton residents young and
old during the recent deluge on 19th September. One was so
impressed that she put up photographs on Facebook of the boys
as they helped people find an alternative route during the
flooding, suggesting they should be awarded in school if anyone
recognised them.
As a result Khalid and Tiago have been recognised for their
service to the community at school in assemblies and
unanimously nominated for the Jack Petchey award by the
Buxton student council. The whole school is very proud of both
boys who are in their final year and will be sitting GCSE exams in
the summer.
Netball Rally
Year 9: Congratulations to all the girls in
the Year 9 netball team who played in the
rally on Wednesday. They played 3 of the
top netball schools in the Borough and
finished in 7th place.
Well done especially to the captain Yusra,
and to Tara who was MVP (Most valuable
player).
