The installer has to individuate the most suitable wall according to weight and overall dimensions indicated on page 3. The general equation for calculating pressure drop, knowing flow rate value is the following For fixing unit it is necessary to use no. 4 Ø 8 mm anchors (not included), they have to be suitable to the chosen wall for installation. The position has to be compliant with hydraulic connections. Δp [bar] = (Q [m3/h] / kv)2 CAUTION The unit can be mounted at position with bottom hydraulic connections (see bellow picture). 300 40 The indicated kv are valid for water without glycol. 8.4 433.2 8.4 CAUTION Before installing the unit, the centralised and apartment systems must be cleansed and flushed to avoid fouling of the unit with impurities or debris from the pipe work installation procedures. The presence of impurities in pipes can be the reason for unsatisfactory working and can cause possible damages to unit components. Therefore it is very important to carefully flush pipes before installing. Connecting the unit to centralized distribution system with interception manual valves (included) is strongly recommended. Thanks to this the unit could be quickly and without particular user unease de-touched from centralized plant in case of special maintenance. Take care not to damage or break the connection seals. Pipe connection torque must not exceed 50 Nm. Hydraulic connection according to ISO 228/1 G3/4 M. EN1H-2617GE25 R0414 4 Honeywell y Subject to change HYBO - HYDRAULIC INTERFACE UNIT Fixing electrical cables Activation The unit comes already equipped with an electric cable and a plug. To give power to the unit simply connect the plug in a socket. Once the installation is completed and after checking that all electric and hydraulic connections have been correctly made, it is possible to active the unit by a plug connection to electrical supply. It is used for disconnection and interruption. Electrical connections CAUTION Before carrying out electrical connections, please read general instructions at page 1. WARNING Isolate the unit from the electrical supply before removing the cover of the electrical box. Display and keypad WARNING Display and keypad come in a separated box, as a separate product that must be ordered separately (code EHIU-DISPLAY). The unit must be connected to electrical supply for programming any functions via separated keypad and display. EHIU-DISPLAY can be easily connected with the included cable to the unit electronic controller, as shown below. Once the operation with the display and keypad is completed, unplug the Display and close the plastic controller box with its cover. Unit could be programmed by qualified persons in accordance with the curent edition of the IEE regulations. RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK 1. Open controller box The LED lights on the right side of the digital display indicate the actions of the hot water temperature control system. Red LED = Valve opening/open - the temperature of the hot water is required to be raised Green LED = Valve closing/closed - the temperature of the hot water is required to be reduced In order to turn it off, press the “ON/OFF” button: if the equipment is still powered, the “OFF” sign will appear. When the unit is electrically powered, the installed software version is shown on the display for a few seconds. 2. Main menu Under menu Function P1 X.X (sec) Where „X.X“ indicates time of sampling temperature. Regulation range 1.0 ³ 10.0 sec P2 X (sec) Where „X“ indicates delay time ordered to activation of sanitary hot water production by flow meter signal (eco function) Regulation range: 0 ³ 5 sec. P3 XX (°C) Where „XX“ indicates the Δ temperature to be added to the setpoint to obtain the maximum permitted temperature beyond which the sanitary valve closes. Anti-burns function*. Regulation range 5 ³ 50°C P4 XX (sec) Where „XX“ indicates delay time ordered to anti burns function intervention. Regulation range 0 30 sec P5 X Where „X“ is a Boolean variable that can be: 0 = warmed heat exchanger function activated ** 1 = warmed heat exchanger function deactivated DHW temperature When the unit is activated and the display shows the temperature detected by the probe, it is possible to adjust the set supply temperature of the hot sanitary water. Use the buttons on the keypad: Press the “A” button to decrease the temperature value. Press the “B” button to increase the temperature value. The display will show a value ranging from 0 to 10. 0 corresponds to approximately 40°C, 10 corresponds to approximately 60°C. Then, press “ENTER” to accept the value. (*) Anti-burns function intervenes when the sensor, positioned on hot sanitary water delivery, feels a temperature superior to “set-point + P3 value”. In this condition the modulating 2-way valve, positioned on heat exchanger primary, is forced to complete closure and interrupts the erogation of thermal energy. When temperature goes down to “set-point + P3 value”, the system automatically starts normal production of sanitary hot water again. (**) When warmed heat exchanger function is activated (P5 =0) the primary circuit of the heat exchanger is constantly maintained in temperature (even in absence of sanitary drawing) thanks to the passage of a small quantity of hot water in primary circuit. This function can be activated when the unit is away from distribution columns to reduce the DHW production delay time. CAUTION The anti-burns function helps to avoid supply of hot sanitary water with dangerous temperatures. Installing devices for thermal safety for sanitary uses to be placed below the unit is advised. If the hot sanitary water temperature sensor is damaged or not connected the display shows the allarm “ALt”. The modulating valve of the plated exchanger primary circuit is forced to closing; the flashing "AL t" is displayed. When the damage is restored the unit start again with its normal functioning. Deactivation of unit functions Regarding sanitary function, excluding all takings is sufficient and the module will automatically stop any energy inflow from centralized plant (if the warmed heat exchanger is deactivated). Besides, pressing “ON/OFF” button on keypad is possible to deactivate hydraulic unit functions. On display you find “OFF” and all functions are deactivated:both motorized valves are on complete closing EN1H-2617GE25 R0414 6 Honeywell y Subject to change HYBO - HYDRAULIC INTERFACE UNIT Balancing Backflow preventer The unit is designed to work under project defined system parameters (mainly primary and secondary circuit flows and temperatures), that must be checked with Honeywell personnel before product choice. As required by regulations insert a backflow preventer on the domestic cold water inlet. Backflow preventer is not included with the unit. If real system parameters are different from defined system parameters the unit cannot be able to provide the expected performance. It is necessary to respect defined system parameters for all the units in the building. For this purpose it is strongly recommended to take care of a proper hydraulic system balancing.
