The Maggini became Brunel Artists-in-Association in 1995, and were created
Brunel Honorary Fellows in 2004.
One of the finest British string quartets, the Maggini Quartet’s acclaimed recordings have
won international awards including Gramophone Chamber Music Award of the Year,
Diapason d’Or of the Year and a Cannes Classical Award, and have twice been nominated
for Grammy Awards. The Quartet is currently recording the complete Mendelssohn quartet
cycle for Meridian Records.

Parade was first performed in 1998 and
has won many awards, including the Tony
Awards for Best Book of a Musical and
Best Original Musical Score. Jason Robert Brown’s modern musical tells the true story of
Leo Frank, a Jewish Yankee factory supervisor, falsely accused of murder. Set in Marietta,
Georgia in 1913, 50 years after the Civil War, the mix of anti Yankee feeling and rife antiSemitism at the time leads to a miscarriage of justice with tragic consequences.

classes are open to everyone aged 17 or over, and are suitable for all levels of
ability unless indicated.
