It transfers torques of up to 4,000 Nm and can reliably handle pallets weighing up to 1,000 kg (800 x 800 mm). Such high weights are made possible by using a locking system with dual stroke actuation developed by SCHUNK. The locking itself is form-fitting and self-locking. For reliable functionality in demanding environments, it is completely sealed against chips and coolant. In addition, a standard cleaning function guarantees a chip-free flat work surface between the pallet and robot coupling. Locking and unlocking are monitored by a path measuring system and the pallet presence is scanned with inductive proximity switches for the process m onitoring.
