03-09-14 List of FW 4.0.1 Changes LUCOM GmbH * Ansbacher Str. 2a * 90513 Zirndorf * Tel. 09127/59 460-10 * Fax. 09127/59 460-20 * www.lucom.de LIST OF FW 4.0.1 CHANGES All Routers Added blocking of incoming traffic on all non-selected backup routes Change of Backup routes configuration. All unused routes are put into chain Block by default, so unused routes are banned. Removed unnecessary erasing of FLASH during firmware update This speeds up firmware upgrade time. Some routers need approximately half of the time needed before (3 minutes to 1.5 minutes), some routers need just shorter time (20 seconds shorter). All Routers Apart from ER75i and UR5 Added library libm.so C math library libm.so was added. Functions in this library provide common elementary mathematical functions and floating point environment routines defined by System V, ANSI C, POSIX, and so on. Additional functions in this library provide extended support for handling floating point exceptions. Fixed NAT traversal support that was mistakenly removed from Openswan Openswan is an IPsec implementation for Linux. It has support for NAT Traversal (techniques that establish and maintain Internet protocol connections traversing network address translation (NAT) gateways). Upgraded PPP to version 2.4.6 Linux implementation of PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol – data link protocol used to establish a direct connection between two nodes) was upgraded to version 2.4.6. All v2 Routers Added support of connecting to WiFi network with hidden SSID 03-09-14 Routers can connect to WiFi network with hidden SSID. Hiding the network’s SSID (service set identifier) enhances its security. SSID has to be set before explicitly. Devtmpfs lets the kernel create a tmpfs instance called devtmpfs very early at kernel initialization, before any driver-core device is registered. Every device with a major/minor will provide a device node in devtmpfs. Set SSH login timeout to 1 minute and idle timeout to 10 minutes Login to SSH (Secure Shell – a cryptographic network protocol for secure data communication) is now more secure. SSH protocol itself contains no timeouts for login and idle logout. With added timeouts user has to write down a password during 1 minute and if he is 10 minutes idle, he is logged out automatically. Fixed initialization of timer for MACB controller Timer for MACB controller (controller for Ethernet interface) is working properly. Fixed receiving data from serial line Expansion port XC-232 in PORT2 didn’t send data with length 8 B and multiplies. Problem caused by bad “fifosize” value is fixed and XC-232 in PORT2 is working properly. All v2 Routers Apart from UR5i v2L Fixed function of XC-ETH in second expansion slot XC-ETH is now working in PORT2 even if eth0 is unplugged. All Routers Apart from XR5i, XR5i v2 and Spectre RT Fixed invalid value of SNMP OID mobileDisconnect 03-09-14 Value of OID (object identifier) of mobileDisconnect variable in SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) was fixed. LUCOM GmbH * Ansbacher Str. 2a * 90513 Zirndorf * Tel. 09127/59 460-10 * Fax. 09127/59 460-20 * www.lucom.de LIST OF FW 4.0.1 CHANGES All Routers Apart from ER75i, UR5, XR5i, XR5i v2 and Spectre RT Added support of PPPoE Routers now support Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet. There’s new item PPPoE in the administration menu. PPPoE encapsulates PPP communication inside Ethernet frames. UR5, UR5i, UR5i v2, LR77 v2, Bivias v2HC and Bivias v2LC Fixed reading of SMS when SIM card is full Fixed by different reading out method. The new method reads out one after one SMS. It was a bug of wireless module supplier – module rebooted itself after executing some AT commands if there was 40+ SMS. UR5, UR5 v2, UR5i v2, UR5i v2L Fixed reading of operator name If operator name stored on SIM card was corrupted, it was wrongly displayed in the web interface. Operator name is now read from the module instead of the SIM card. Fixed return to automatic network type selection 03-09-14 There was a problem with restoration of automatic network type selection. In administration interface user chose e.g. UMTS network type. Then he chose back the automatic network type but this option wasn’t enforced. Automatic network type selection now works properly. Configuration of Ping IP Address in router administration interface does now proper change. Spectre 3G, Spectre LTE-AT and Spectre LTE-VZ Upgraded driver for Gobi 3000/4000 modules to version S2.18N2.24 Driver for Gobi 3000/4000 modules was upgraded to version S2.18N2.24 LR77 v2, Spectre LTE-AT and Bivias v2LC Fixed registration to LTE network There was a problem of AT commands order at APN (Access Point Name) setup when registering to LTE network. This was not well documented at LTE specifications. The change of AT commands order made the correction of registration. LR77 v2, Bivias v2HC and Bivias v2LC Added logging of network connection failure reason 03-09-14 Feature of routers with mobile USB interface devices (usb0). On ppp0 connections users get a very detailed error log. Now they can get detailed error log with usb0 connections also. Missing informations in system log can be added by calling AT command “AT+CEER”. This is now working properly – every module gets the right interface. LR77 v2 and Bivias v2LC Added support of Sierra Wireless MC7304 modules Routers now support Sierra Wireless MC7304 modules. ER75i and UR5 Increased maximal length of shell variable to 8 KB Long keys in v1 routers caused error messages. Shell variable length was increased to 8 KB. UR5i v2 Added support of DirectIP connection for Sierra Wireless MC8705 modules Sierra DirectIP connection is used instead of PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol) connection in previous version. UR5i v2L Fixed detection of WiFi module 03-09-14 Hardware detection of WiFi expansion board fixed.
