Professional Coding Tracks
Basic: Participants will learn the fundamentals of CPT and ICD-9 coding for the professional aspect of emergency medical care,
and then have the opportunity to apply this knowledge through discussion of actual ED cases.
Advanced: Participants will have the opportunity to review the appropriate use of CPT and ICD-9 codes for professional
services provided in the emergency department.
Facility Coding Track
Participants will review the unique aspects of facility coding for emergency services provided to ED patients. Included will be
discussions of the current CMS proposals around E/M visit levels, packaging and the final impact on ED facility coding for 2015.
Physician/Administrative Track:
Participants will:
• Review documentation requirements for various emergency services.
• Learn about how upcoming Healthcare Reform, the ACA and payment reforms will impact your practice.
• Review opportunities for groups to better address the payor audit and compliance challenges.
• Be given tools to better assess their group’s billing and collection performance
This course offers information updates for emergency physicians and for billing/coding professionals and group managers.
Lunch offers unstructured time to interact with peers and to share information about the dynamic reimbursement environment.
