Review and Appeal Guide

Review and Appeal Guide
If you have received an ACS result letter and you disagree with the result, you may lodge either a Review application or an Appeal
application. Both applications incur a fee of $395 and they will take 3-4 weeks to be processed.
These applications can only be lodged within 60 days of the date on your ACS result letter. Once outside of the 60 day period you
will be required to lodge a new application.
Review Application
Upon starting your review application, you will be provided with the opportunity to select your reason for review and to elaborate
on it. This will then be the focus of the Review assessment. The 3 reasons for Review are usually in the following areas:
1.
To assess additional work experience or additional documentation
If a period of your work experience has been assessed as being insufficient or not closely related to the nominated ANZSCO code
and you feel you are able to provide additional documentation to rectify this, you may lodge a review application.
If you have an additional period of employment which you did not include in your original application that you would like to be
assessed, you may lodge a Review application.
Please refer to the instructions below for information on how to apply.
You will only need to provide certified copies of additional documentation that you wish to be considered.
Please Note: your appointed case officer will not be able to tell you whether your new documentation will be accepted or not. It is
the applicant’s responsibility to ensure they have read and understood the ACS requirements and their documentation adheres to
the points listed
2.
To assess additional qualifications or additional documentation
If one of your qualifications has been assessed as being insufficient or not closely related to the nominated ANZSCO code and you
feel that you are able to provide further documentation to rectify this, you may lodge a review application.
If you have an additional qualification that you did not include in your original application which you would like assessed, you may
lodge a Review application.
Please refer to the instructions below for information on how to apply.

3.
To be assessed under a different ANZSCO code
If you would like to be assessed under a different ANZSCO code, you may lodge a Review application.
Please refer to the instructions below for information on how to apply.
Please note that your appointed case officer will not be able to tell you whether your application will be suitable under the new
ANZSCO code. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure they have read and understood the ACS requirements.
Appeal Application
If you disagree with the outcome on the ACS result letter and believe you have been assessed incorrectly, you may lodge an Appeal
application.
No further documentation can be submitted with an Appeal application. The application is assessed based on the documentation
originally submitted.
Upon starting the application you are provided with the opportunity to elaborate on your reason for appeal. The appeal is assessed
by a senior assessor who will confirm the outcome.
If the original assessment is found to be assessed incorrectly, you will be refunded the $395 appeal fee and a new result letter will
be generated for you. If the original assessment is found to be correct and no error is found, the result will remain the same and a
refund will not be possible in this instance.
Appeal applications are final and no further applications can be lodged after the completion of an appeal application.
Please contact your appointed case officer if you require more information.
