FRIDAY and SATURDAY plans. Please see the attached memo regarding the football game
Friday night and the competition (our last one of the year!) on Saturday. ** Updates: We will not be
performing our show on Friday night due to it being Riverwood's Senior Night. We will play in the
stands the entire game. We will also NOT be wearing uniforms Friday night. Students should wear
jeans and Kell attire (with tennis shoes) to the game.**
Fall Concert is next week! Next Tuesday, 10/21 is our Fall Preview Concert at 7:00 at Kell HS.
Please make plans to be there and show your support! Attire for students is "business casual"-gentlemen, that means slacks or khakis and a button down shirt or polo. Ties are appropriate but not
required. Ladies, that means a skirt or dress, or blouse, or pants. For all students, no tennis shoes,
jeans, or t-shirts please.
Concert Band rehearsal Monday 10/20. For concert band students ONLY, there will be a required
one-hour rehearsal on Monday 10/20 from 3:45-4:45. This was announced the first day of school,
and has been in the syllabus and on the calendar since that time. We add this one rehearsal after
school in order to combine the woodwinds, brass, and percussion for the first time since their classes
meet at different times during the school day.
March-a-Thon is coming up quickly!! Next Saturday, 10/25, is our annual March-a-Thon. We will
start the parade at 2:00 PM. Students who raise $100 will get to participate in the lock-in with Mr.
Roth and Mr. Watts after the March-a-Thon, from 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM. We'll have lots
of video games, sports, candy, food, and fun! $100 is your ticket in the door
MARCH-A-THON HELP!! SATURDAY OCT. 25 Parents, I hope you are all helping your marcher
get to his/her $100 fair share for March-a-Thon. We need your help motivating your student to raise
the money. We are in need of 2 pickup trucks to transport water and MUST Ministry food collection
barrels. Tarps are also needed for rest stops.
We need access to the North Landing clubhouse parking lot for dropping off band students at the
start of the parade. I have sent e-mails to the HOA President and have not heard back from
him/her. If you have a key for the gate or a contact name or can help with any of these other needs,
please e-mail me at [email protected]. STUDENT LEADERSHIP--The flyers for the
March-A-Thon should be out by now on mailboxes.
ALMOST OUT OF WATER! Can you donate a case (or two) of water? We used over 1,000 bottles
of water at Jacksonville State last Saturday between feeding 2 meals to the band, guard, staff,
chaperones and equipment crew and keeping everyone hydrated before and after 2 truly amazing
performances!! If you can donate water, please bring it by the band room at practice on Thursday
evening or Saturday morning. Thanks for your generosity!
