COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES & EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES: 1 WSU-Vancouver is having their annual LGBTQ college fair on this Saturday, October 25th. It will run from 12-3pm in the Firstenburg student commons. If you are interested in attending this fair, inquire in the Career Center. 2 The Courage Essay contest is now open. If selected, student will be awarded 10,000 and a trip to Boston. See Ms. Walcott in the Career Center for more information. 3 Ladies, if you are a senior and you are interested in pursuing a degree in transportation see Ms. Walcott in the Career Center. The Women in Transportation society is offering a 1,000 scholarship to any female that plans to pursue a career in a transportation-related field. The deadline for this scholarship is Wednesday, October 22nd 4 Kaiser Permanente has begun accepting applicants for their Health Care and Career Scholarships. Any seniors interested in pursuing a career in the Dental or Medical field, this scholarship is for you. See Ms. Walcott in the career center for further instruction on how to apply 5 Camas students are cordially invited to participate in a new tour process at Boeing Portland! The tour will begin this Saturday, October 25, from 9am – 11am for students 15 years or older. If you are interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing, please note that space is limited and advance registration is required by Friday, October 10 and available on first-come, first-served basis. VOLUNTEER & JOB OPPORTUNITIES: 1 The food bank is planning to host its first Youth Service Day on Tuesday 11/11. This volunteer event will be designed to give high school students the opportunity to learn about hunger in our community, as well the importance of giving back and helping others.
