Sending off your tokens
To send off your tokens simply complete the claim form which
can be found in this pack or downloaded from the Tubs4Tablets
website and insert a copy, with your tokens, into an envelope.
Write the freepost address on the front and pop it in the post
with time for it to reach us by the 30th January 2015.

Use the resources we have provided in your Schools Resource Pack or available to download
online to get your campaign started.
Set up a collection point
Set up a collection drop-box for your school using a cardboard box. Your School
Resource Pack and the Tubs4Tablets website contains a label which you can use to
decorate your box so everyone knows where they can leave their tokens. Make sure
your collection point is in a prominent place in the school and that you have let
everyone know where it can be found. Perhaps you could even keep a tally above
your box to let people know how many tokens you have collected.
Display posters
We have provided you with 2 full colour A2 posters to help you spread the word to
kids, parents and other members of your school’s community. Make sure to display
it in a prominent place to remind everyone to collect tokens. You can also download
the poster from our website and print out extra copies if you would like to display
them in more than one place around the school.
Set a target
Setting an achievable target can help to motivate those collecting tokens for you.
Be sure to keep people up to date with how your campaign is going and let them
know how close you are to reaching your target.

Spreading the word
Now you have everything set up the next step is to let everyone in your community know that
you are collecting tokens for the Tubs4Tablets scheme. Here are some ideas to help you make the
campaign a success.
Run a launch assembly or event
Community spaces
Send a letter home
Engage everybody
Invite parents in and let everyone know about your campaign
with a launch assembly or event. You could arrange for
pupils to show off some of the work your pupils are already
doing with IT or technology and explain how access to
tablets will help to enhance this. Get pupils involved with
delivering the event to help make a real impact!
Sending a letter home to parents is a great way to let
everyone know that you are taking part in Tubs4Tablets
and encourage them to start collecting vouchers.
Our website www.flora.com/tubs4tablets has a
letter template explaining all the details of the scheme
which you could customise and send out to parents.
Many community spaces (e.g. libraries, leisure centres)
see a lot of footfall and all these people passing through
could be helping you on your way to more tablets.
Ask your local library or leisure centre whether you could
leave a poster on their noticeboard, reception area or
changing rooms.
It’s not just teachers and pupils that can help you with
your collection - get your school’s whole community
involved and make your campaign a real success. Talk
to your PTA and your board of governors, your kitchen
staff and your caretakers. Let everyone know how easy it
is to collect and get them excited about the possibilities
which the scheme will open up. Why not let your partner
secondary school know that you are taking part and ask
them to help collect for your campaign?

Making the most of your tablets
Tablets can be an amazing source of inspiration for pupils, bringing subjects to life across the
curriculum. Here are some top tips and helpful advice from teachers who already use tablets
with their class.
Don’t think you have to know it all
Don’t be concerned about not knowing everything about
your new technology – with ICT things change quickly
and there is always more to learn. Allow children to
experiment and they are sure to discover exciting and
innovative ways to put the tablets to good use.
Encourage inclusion
The beauty of a device as versatile as a tablet is that it can
offer ways to suit the many different learning styles which
you may find in your classroom. One teacher reported
using QR codes which linked to a formula or an example
math problem to help with differentiation while others
have reported that tablets’ visual capabilities have been
especially useful for visual learners.
Share and share alike
Tablets are ideal for enabling group work, a key skill
for every subject and the world after education. Use
the tablets to encourage pupils to work together and
communicate effectively. Encourage pupils to review
other’s work and make theirs available for feedback,
helping them to learn from each other. Tablets could even
make it possible for pupils to work with people from other
schools or other countries!
Get hands on with reluctant
colleagues
Help your colleagues to discover the joys of using tablets
in the classroom by showing them how you have used
them in your lessons. A demonstration will always be
more effective than simply telling them.

A versatile tool
Whether it’s Maths or Music, English or Art, tablets can be a great tool for any project. Here are
some suggestions highlighting the different ways you can put them at the heart of learning.
Research
Tablets can help bring research to life. Introduce pupils to
the wealth of information at their fingertips and encourage
them to dig deep on any given subject. What’s more, pupils
will benefit from being able to access inspiring multimedia
content; for example, why not bring the water cycle to life
by watching an informative animation?
Create
Tablets offer pupils a great opportunity to show off their
creative side. Drawing apps could be used to plan a piece
of artwork without having to worry about mistakes before
a final draft is created. Anything that pupils create could be
shared in galleries for others to admire and feedback on.
Write
A tablet can help to make writing an exciting experience
even for those children that may normally find it a chore.
Pupils could create a journal to capture their thoughts
on the book they are reading which others can comment
on and respond to. This ability to see an instant reaction
to their work can in turn encourage them to write more.
Furthermore, while typing isn’t intended to replace writing,
it is certainly a skill which all pupils will need in the future so
working on a tablet can provide pupils with valuable practice

Lightweight and easy to navigate, tablets provide a great
tool for pupils to use in presenting their work to a group.
A host of apps enable presentations to be updated and
highlighted as they are presented helping to make them
relevant and easy-to-follow. Once pupils have practised
their all-important public speaking skills, developing
their confidence, presentations can be emailed to
teachers for marking.
