Technology meets Tradition Dear friends, “Update Ayurveda 2014” is a 3-day Conference organized every four years since 1988. This is a unique conference which attempts to compile the major research developments in the field of Ayurveda at the National and International levels through various topics and also strives to create a vision for the development of Ayurveda. The main objective of the Conference is to bring researchers from Modern medicine, Ayurveda and Herbal research onto a common platform where they can discuss and disseminate their knowledge in order to amalgamate traditional research with modern science. The Conference has always focused on various contemporary themes promoting research and development in Ayurveda. This year’s theme is “Technology meets Tradition” through which we plan to bring Ayurveda and contemporary science together to synthesize an integrated approach of health care where modern technology meets traditional wisdom without compromising the values inherent to them. 2 Pre-conference Workshops are also planned to provide hands-on experience in “Molecular Biology Techniques” and “Statistical and Research methodology with Ayurvedic Perspective” on 9th & 10th December 2014 respectively. To encourage young researchers, this year we have arranged a prize paper session in addition to a free paper session (posters/ oral papers).
