Bi-State Infectious Disease Conference Awards The 19th Annual Bi-State Infectious Disease Conference will be held at the Marriott St. Louis Airport on Friday, October 17th, 2014. This conference is jointly provided by Heartland National TB Center, Missouri and Illinois Public Health, and APIC-St. Louis Chapter 73. At the conference, the Bi-State Infectious Disease committee would like to honor individuals who go above and beyond their normal duties to prevent and control disease. There will be three awards presented at the conference. Please see the attached nomination form for descriptions of these awards. Nominations will be reviewed and selected by a group of their peers in their field. Each award will be presented at the conference by a Bi-State committee member and/or a state health department representative. Criteria: Recipient must be an Infection Prevention Professional who has served the Infection Prevention community as a whole through education, research and work efforts that positively contributed to the prevention of infectious disease. The Public Health Award is given in recognition of one individual who has demonstrated a profound level of dedication and professionalism to public health and to the identification and control of communicable diseases. Criteria: Recipient must be a professional in the field of Public Health or Infectious Disease who through education, research, or practical science has positively contributed to the prevention and control of infectious disease. The Partnership Award is given in recognition of the outstanding performance and/or support of an individual, agency or group in coordination with the infectious disease staff at a local health department or hospital. Criteria: Recipient must be an individual, agency or group which has contributed to the support of public health of the St. Louis Metropolitan area through communication, education and prevention/control efforts of infectious diseases. The emphasis is on the outside synergistic efforts with other entities in the community.
